The Community and PGI have spoken ... they nerfed missiles so that other weapons are just plain better. Do yourself and your team mates a favor and dont equip them.

i guess PGI soon gather enough Data and do some Fixing, to do some changes. Maybe for good, maybe for bad, we will see.

Wooooow. Can you people not read dev posts? They had to tweak splash damage because it was multiplying many times more than missiles were supposed to do. They'll change the stats thus making missiles more powerful again (though not as unbalanced as they were when bugged) as soon as they fix it.

A bug fix is not a nerf.

It's the time for Stalker 5M 2 x LRM 15, 3x LRM 10 :( . The way of the cover will be lost with time.

You have it backwards.

You should actually use them more.

That way the devs will have tons of live stats showing how underpowered they are. If nobody uses them ,then they can't collect the stats they need to balance them well, because they will need to use a smaller sample pool.

Balancing is not done by popularity/ how many people use them. They aren't running for Ms. USA or LRMing with the Stars (txt 34463 to vote for LRM 5!)

It is done by the math damage/hits etc.

The more data they have the better.

Splash is still in you tard. They reduced the base damage to .7 instead of 1.8.

It is a hotfix that is supposed to be removed when they rework how all missiles are supposed to work... eventually.

LRMs will be remain in the trashcan until they decide to balance ECM/BAP. As I tried to tell people, the problem was never the damage; it's being too easily shutdown or often unable to even fire. A wonder beam Tag does not magically balance the game.

They didn't just remove splash. They reduced the splash radius and also reduced per missile damage to nearly a third of what it was previously.

If they had just completely removed the splash mechanic and left missile damage how it was there wouldn't be so many of these threads.

The bugged splash mechanic was the problem. Not the per missile damage.

PGI Time. Not as famous as Valve time. PGI Time is normal time multiplied by four. Expecting a fix in a week? Patched in after 4 weeks. Gonna take a break until they make CW happen? See you after the summer.

The last poll I saw on this subject had about 2/3rds of the voters saying they think LRMs, SRMs, and SSRMs are right about where they need to be at. They've spoken indeed.

So you liked it before when SRMs were overpowered?
Now that other weapons stand a chance with a capable pilot, SRMs are the worst and all others are better?
They didn't nerf missiles so other weapons are better, they nerfed them so they would balance like they should. I mean cmon, 2.5 base + splash was fair to you?

The problem is no one reads the notes and misrepresents all the changes.

They didn't remove splash damage. The BROKEN splash damage is still in game. To mitigate it's effects they lowered the splash damage range and capped the max it could be.

They originally tried to remove splash altogether as the fix, but then they discovered another problem- LRMs were hitting the CT way too often. So just removing splash damage would not fix it.
