For some reason the textarea that you use here for making posts overrides Firefox's ability to do spellchecking (underlining unrecognized words). It's extremely annoying since I rely upon that to spell check everything I post.
Could you please change the textareas you use so as not to interfere with Firefox's spell check? Thanks.

I'm running version 12 and it doesn't work. It didn't work in version 10 either. Works fine in all of the other forums I visit.
I'm goign to try in Safe mode with no add-ons to see if that helps.

Even in Safe Mode for Firefox 12, something on these forums is blocking spell checking.
Here's a way you can tell something is quirky: right click on some text you just typed when posting. You can see the "Check Spelling" option and verify it's enabled. Now right-click on the white area of the text box where there's no text (ie: below your texr). Notice the option isn't there and Firefox doesn't see it as a textarea.
It's broken. Can we please get a webmaster/webdev response to this? Thanks.

Just upgraded to V 12. Still works for me. I use it on a constant basis, it's a life saver! Unless, of course, its a spell checker from an add on and NOT Firefox's . I have not intentionally added anything, but you never know.
Hopefully Kyle or someone can think of a reason why it doesn't work for you.
Cheers.

I am typing in Firefox 12 right now and I am intentionnallly misspelling the word intentionally, and it is not underlined.
I am now editing my post, and the misspelled inetnntionallly is still not underlined.
My current browser settings do allow me to spell-check as I go in other forums and text fields, so I would like to confirm the OP's observation that the MW:O website is blocking my FireFox spellchecker utility.

Thank you. That's EXACTLY what I'm seeing too. I have no idea what Helmer is talking about? Helmer, does you underlining work here? It doesn't work for us.

Just to let you know, I'm using FireFox 12.0 and it's spellcheck function is working perfectly. (For example, in your quote it's listing "timestamp" as misspelled as well as "goign" and "add-ons")

This is funny. I'm trying it at home now on a different PC, with Firefox 12, and underline is not working here either.
Safe mode or normal, the built-in Firefox Spell Check doesn't work for me on either PC. Something with these forums is odd. The spell check underlining works on any other forum I frequent just fine.
