I thought about this on and off, but after watching the intro video for MWO and seeing the logo I realized what it was.

You know what I’m talking about. That dried out bone bull head. It looks like something that came from the desert or a cheesy cowboy film. It has nothing to do with piranhas, the fish that live in South America. It looks so dead, static, and lifeless. What’s are they trying to say with such a logo? Is Piranha games a dead company? Is that what happens to players who play piranha games? I don’t get the point of the logo. It bothers me.

I don’t believe that’s what piranha games represents, at least not to me. Piranha games has a high amount community interaction and fresh ideas on gaming. The developers, from what I have seen, have a sense of humor and are pretty personable. The company is alive, responsive, and adventurous. That’s not a dead dried up bull head.

I imagined a logo for Piranha games would look something like this:
http://www.turbosqui...n-3d-max/412403
You know, a piranha for starters.

Also perhaps a combination of these two:
http://www.easyvecto...a-fish-clip-art
http://teenormous.co...dbubble-1170310

I’m thinking cool but with a sense of humor. Your friend, the killer fish.

Well what do you all think? Is this just me or do I have a point?

Well... piranhas do strip carcasses to the bone. Perhaps their logo is of the victim of a piranha attack.

If you look closely you will see bubbles coming out of the skull...it is a steer skull underwater after the Piranha's have stripped it.

And there are eyes looking out from the socket, however they seemed to stop using that logo :>

No no, bulls live in north america in the desert and the plains and stuff. Bulls don't live in the south american jungle. The thought of a south american jungle bull getting pulled into the river while sipping is absurd. Why don't you have a boned out lizzard? That would make much more sense and probably would be cooler. It's still dead, but hey it looks more exotic.

Wow a thread criticizing PGI's logo. I guess people ran out of other things to yell at the devs about. I am inclined to think that the skull is underwater and has been stripped by piranha.

Bulls live in places where there are piranhas in South America. A lot of them.

There is even an old custom of killing an old or weak bull for the piranhas to let the other bulls to cross the river. I know, I'm a Brazilian.

There is a term here called "piranha's bull" which is equivalent to the "cannon fodder".

Maybe We're the piranha and the devs are the bull. I could see them feeling that way on occasion.

I am sure everyone has heard the story of the cow picked to the bone by Piranha in 3 minutes? The skull is a lot better than a pic of a fish with a large underbite.

Of course being named after an animal mostly known for it's speed and efficiency is a bit ironic. :D
