The moral of the story should be, build the mech better and aim better. 90 alpha is doable with near maxed crit slots and 9-10 tons of ammo.

So yesterday I was in battle with my Cheesapult on Caustic when I became the last man standing against a Stalker. I alpha'd repeatedly until the Stalker was left with no weapons. After I stripped off what was left I realized I was out of ammo. So there we were a walking stick Stalker and a Cheesapult with no ammo.
The Stalker headed to our cap, which we were right next to, so I followed him after having my team YELLING in my ear. Once we arrived I commenced to flogging him with my Cheesapult to no avail and it ended in a tie....
Amused, at first. Frustrated, next. Bored at the end.

My Cataphract that has the CT Energy Hardpoints usually loses the Medium Lasers before I even lose the arms lol. Would think the Catapult, with the similar "Here is my CT, please shoot it" profile, would have the same problem
Only happened once to me that I lost a laser from CT before blowing up. But I run an XL engine so chances are good that my side torsos seal my doom once my arms are lost.
However, having at least some energy weapons in CT or similar locations is vital for any mainly ammo based mechs to avoid being useles at he end of long and close matches.
