Hey guys, I've been a longtime fan of the MW franchise so when I heard of mwo and then saw the blueprints, I just had to model my favourite mech myself.

Hope you guys like it!

Nice rendering. Did you extract the model from the game files or did you build it from scratch?

I know she's called Catapult but i'll call her Awesome! Great work. Your other works rule too. I see you use some sculpting soft. Did you also sculp this Cat or is it standart poly modeling?

Thanks man! No sculpting on this one, this is pure poly modeling in 3DS

Which program did you use to model this? Makes me want to convert the ortho to a Catapult in NX...

How long did it take you? I made a few attempts at doing that in Blender from the ortho (they also have the dragon one), but then I found out how to import the game files directly and saved my time (and sanity). ;-)

Are you stating Heffay that you were able to get the models extracted from the MWO game?
If so, how?

Well, unlike him, though, we don't have the hi-poly version.

For those who want access to the high poly game models, check out my thread in this forum.

http://mwomercs.com/...ing-pgis-mechs/

Then you can do things like this without spending dozens of hours modeling from ortho diagrams. ;-)

The high poly models aren't actually in the game files. The game res ones are though ;)

OP: looks hot.

This is the dev one, so it isn't completely 100% the same as his work, but both are really high on polygons.

Thanks guys!

It took about 2 weeks to complete, and the high-poly is in the millions since its all subdivided up.

Hey man,

I was wondering if it were possible to get the model file and textures off you.
I Started working on the Catapult game file however, its prety rough and segmented.

what im getting at is, it would be easier to work from your files since the textures are a
hell of alot better res, even though i would have to cut down the polys in yours alot.

Im working on building a "Detailed" paper model (papercraft) of this, would be approx a foot and a half tall when complete.
and posable. of course i would share the end result with you, and maybe even offer it on
this forum as printable pages, with your permission of course.

Let me know what you think.

just some little things, but I've always thought the catapult should have had its arm launcher cover open DOWN! however this does look amazing.
