Howdy!

I was just curious if anyone had suggested reading for those not steeped in the world of BattleTech, or needing to ctach up after being gone for many years.

Cheers

Best reading material as a primer for MWO is the Twenty Year Update This will give a good overview of events up to this point, and some used copies can actually be very reasonably priced. I'd also recommend The 4th Succession War: Military Atlas, volumes 1 and 2, as this will give you a very good idea of the events that set the stage for the Twenty Year Update. The myriad House Handbooks are also good sources of information, though the newer ones do cover the post-clan invasion.

ED: What makes the Twenty Year Update so good is that it is pretty much literally written on the cusp of the clan invasion. It is THE book I'd recommend, though the other books I mentioned are good for context.

What about novels? I was going to read the Jade Falcon trilogy since that seems to be a fan favorite. Any other good novels? I like a little "story" with my "his" ;)

What novels would be good to read in synchronous order? I want to start with the Star League era and work my way forward.
