Probably a communication error on PGIs side. Maybe they took that fix out last minute and they failed to edit the originally posted notes ... Or they had a misunderstanding about it. Whatever ... would've been nice.

But I like the adjustments for the conquest-mode and NARC/TAG. Sounds good. I actually didn't expect a patch for today anyhow.

Partial 'lag shield' fix - it is now only affected by your ping, not your targets ping.
If that means what I think it means.. bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa

It just means that if your running a 105 to 150 connection and I running a light at a 40 to 60 ping you might get a spike or have to lead me with your shots.

Before my inputs would hit the server before your input this causes a float efffect plus slow trigger input.

You see this a lot in regular FPS games were you both see each other press the shoot button at the same time but because your at a slower ping his data reaches the server first then transfers to your computer.

Before this patch the signal time was effected by both computers now from what garth says only your ping effects the out come.

It should smooth things out and keep in mind I am a caveman when it comes to ping.

Didn't make anything up. Why would I? I never had a problem hitting enemy mechs of all kind.

No idea why they changed it. My quote is from the patch notes as they were at that time.

Look, I don't know you. I don't know if you're the kind of guy that enjoy's messing with other's heads or not. All I'm saying is that in your quote you said the lagsheild was partially fixed and in the patch notes it doesn't say that. That's why I asked.

You should no longer need to fire ahead of where a mech powers down or shuts down in order to hit them

It was there i saw it int eh patch notes and i commented on it here... and now it is indeed missing.

that sucks the one thing i was really looking forward to from this patch and it's gone before i can test it. Hopefully we'll get an explanation.

I can confirm that the original patchnotes said that. Also, he's a mod... unlikely to be messing with your head.

Hmm, i absolutely don't like that part being deleted from the patch notes... Yet it's nice to know that it WAS in there. Also no jumpjet thrust fix. I hope they don't consider leaving them in this useless state.

Oh, I enjoy that very much! But in this case I'm innocent. :)

I will edit my other post and replace the notes with the current ones.

Edit: aw no ECM fix

This will eventually fix itself, when

- either everyone uses ECM mechs, succumbing to the fact that without them you suck, or
- when most of the players have left due to ECM grief

So there's no actual fixing needed, unless PGI wants to give this another direction of course. Do they?

I just wanted to cheer you gladly with "OP delivers!" as soon as possible (was unable to do this before servers shutdown), but now noticed a thread about lagshield fixes being removed from patch notes (and yes, I saw them there too). You're unf*ckabelievable, PGI.

You will find a post from Bryan there, why it was removed from the patch notes.

Noooooo.. That was the best part of the old notes lol.

Edit: In all honesty, I was leaving work, saw that post and went "Yes, cant wait to try that out!"

Got home, saw that it wasn't in and went.... "Meh"

I know its being worked on... but WORK FASTER! j/k :)

Yet the patch is better than nopatch, so OP still delivers something, thanks anyway!

I have used ECM a grand total of maybe 10 times, and intermittently at that. I have also had no issues in the 100's of games played while not using it, and have not sucked as a result, so that first bolded statement doesn't quite hold up.

Shame its not in this patch but at least they are/have worked on it to the point that they had already written a patch note for it, so I would assume that it will roll in the next patch or just be a ninja patch (to see if anyone notices a change or if the moaning threads continue as before)

EDIT:- Oh and INB4 'they cant even write patch notes without a bugfix being needed on them' :)

Bryans note that a lagshield fix IS being worked on and is being tested is the single BEST piece of news i could possibly read. It make me so happy :)
