Solo Queue Please

I know this has been brought up before, but this game really needs a Solo Only Queue. It seems that I can not find a game with pure PuGs anymore. Every single game I have played has some sort of premade. I like so many others would just like a fair match experience where the group composition is random and I d not have to worry as much about one-sided matches where the group can drop with the optimal complementary set-ups. Let the 4 mans fight each other.

Are you suggesting that the "up to 4 players" teams get converted to "only 4 players" teams? Sometimes I like to queue up with a friend, and that'd be rather annoying if the only way he and I could jump into the same match on the same side (without just crossing our fingers and hoping luck favors us) would be if we had two additional people.

Yeah 4man premade dropping in PUGs creates imbalance but I believe matchmaking phase 3 with ELO ranking system will alleviate some of the problem. You will atleast, from what I understand, have an equally skilled player on your side as the enemy.

Actually ... unless the ELO system factors in the effect of grouped vs. ungrouped folks ... I don't think it will work at all.

If you take two teams with identical ELO but one is grouped and the other isn't ... then the odds are NOT even as the ELO comparison might suggest and the most likely outcome is probably a ROFL stomp by the grouped team.

ELO comparisons without compensating for who is grouped and who is not (perhaps by including a ELO multiplier for folks in groups to account for their increased effectiveness) will likely fail.

In addition, a player with a high ELO from dropping with a group regularly will unfairly bias his team's ELO if he drops in a PUG since the ELO reflected the effects of grouping and not the individual performance. The entire ELO concept applied to a team game containing groups that are playing together with communications and coordination and others who are not ... has a fundamental flaw to it.
