I was a fan of the Mad Cat/ Timberwolf you saw in the mechwarrior box, and when they redid it, i just fell in love all over again.

The Turkina has been my ride of choice ever since I first played it. I mean come on an assault mech with jump jets. How can you go wrong there? Not to mention the varient with pulse lasers and a targeting PC. I also really like the lines on this mech it's pretty sweet looking.

I am going to have to say Locust, faster than most mechs, and more armor than most other 20t'rs. Sure 1 med. laser and 2 MGs but always maxed the movement modifier on the tabletop. Can't hit what you cant see, and that soft armor on the back of the slow atlas was always appealing. Cheap fast and not bad for a 3025 mech.

Scouts FTW.

I've read most of the MW books and my favorite was Davion series and the battle mech of choice was the BattleMaster.

I played a lot of P&P but the GM's never let have a BattleMaster. ;)

Note when I played clans where not around.

I am assuming there is a two parter. Favorite Pre and post clan invasion Mechs.

Pre invasion IS mechs:

Centurion - Because of the engarde books and the versatilty of is weapons. Even modable i like to keep it generally similar (Autocannon, missile, laser) I like being able to do it all in a medium platform. It looks sweet too.

Hunchback - I really love this AC20. While the ammo limit/exploding was an issue in the original tabletop and Mw2 mercs, the fact it can hit really hard makes it nice to have in a solaris arena style enviroment. If Its win or die, i will always take an AC20.

Post invasion:

Timberwolf. This iconic mech just grabs hold and does not let go, it does everything well and the first time you fight one it was pretty much amazing.

Summoner- LRMs, AC, PPc, whats not to love? See a pattern? ;)

Annihilator is capable of mad forms of ultraviolence ;) , and it looks pretty sweet doing it. Love the pseudo retro lines, trading the traditional mech blockiness for smoother sleek curves. She’s a looker and a fighter. Needs some badass decals though.

As for my fave Mech, go figure.

Half the reason why many people LOVE their mech of choice is because not only is it useful or caters to their type of play, but the Mech just looks sexy doing so.

I love the direction the Timber Wolf took in MW4. And after seeing what FD did to the Catapult, I think his rendition of the Wolf is going to be money.

I've got SO many freaking configs for it, too.

Jenner variant - JR10-X - A Experimental variant of the Jenner. Using the JR7-K as it base, with extensive revisions. Its internal structure is been changed for a Composite Internal Structure. It engine changed out for 245 Rated XL Engine, which helps maintain Jenner's original Speed. The designer move the forward jutting cockpit to a Torso Mounted Cockpit. Its missile weaponry has completely dropped in favor of increasing the 'Mechs medium laser armament up to six Medium Lasers. Jump Jets increase from base module to seven. For the 'Mech protection has a Angel ECM and it hull has been encased with seven tons of Light Ferro-Fibrous Armor. For its stealth capacities, the 'mech been given an Experimental Null-Signature System. Only seven of these 'Mechs were known to have been built. (7 made... i just need 1 LOL)

Why?? Fast, jump jets, 6 medium lasers and STEALTH...... why not??

Kodiak, it is a very fast mech for it's class Clan Assault Omni Mech. Plus with jump jets it is very maneuverable for its tonnage. An unsuspecting patrol mech approaches a snowy top mountain nav point and all you hear in the next instance is "Command Kodiak, Kodiak". Then there is silence.

sorry it should be approaches a snowy mountain top nav point

I've only played the MW 4 Mercenaries and I love the Fafnir. It runs funny as hell but you can't beat 2 heavy gauss cannons and all that armor.
