Stupid idea that would cost the game a lot of players. It generally takes less than 30sec from the time you hit LAUNCH to the match beginning, and yet many people consistently alt-tab out of the game during the "wait." People this ADD will not continue to play if a quick death, CTD, black screen, FPS bug or the like means they have to wait 10 mins or more to even hit launch again.

I go with yes provided the bugs are fixed first. If you die early, watch the match or wait at the mech bay spending time making modifications to your other mechs, your choice. I always watch. Though I wish their was a third person spectate mode and the ability to spec the other team as well. Provided that they make it so that those who are dead can chat with each other but can't chat with those still playing and vice versa.

As it is, there is nothing stopping someone from building a fast light mech, throw on some lasers, run to the enemy team (everyone tends to take the same paths over and over), hit as many you can before their focused attention takes you out. Drop as soon as you die and repeat the cycle. Since you hit them, you get the assist bonus and a little xp. There it is, it'll take 2min to suicide like that. Add in a little bit of extra time for various reasons and you can basically use your first 4 mech bays and you'll have three in game one you can use.

Your kill/death ration would be horrid but if all you care about is earning c-bills and xp, then it would be a very quick way to do it.

However, such a suicidal way of earning quick and easy c-bills and xp is not playing the game. It harms your team being down a player and you take up a position that could've been filled by someone who actually wants to play the matches. This can also throw the rest of the group off their game if they try and help, blindly charging in.

Sorry but having to either watch the rest of the match or go back and do some things at the mech bay is a very small price to pay for an improved gaming experience. Again, this is provided they fix the bugs first.

Dumb idea that removes one of the best benefits of having multiple mechs in the garage at one time.

Protip: When trying to punish imagined slights try not to punish real players.

You see a disconnect every game because somebody has yellow screen, black screen, no hud, or a CTD in every match. Until you fix every one of those bugs you can't even think of imposing some sort of penalty for starting another match in a different mech.

On top of that you need to be able to reconnect to a match in progress. People who CTD or have one of these bugs could restart the client and rejoin the match. World of Tanks does it just fine, MWO can too.

If they lock the launch button while a mech is still in game, I would hope they would increase the battle rewards a little to make up for it. A player who dies in the middle of a game is not going to hang around doing nothing, he/she is going to start another game. If players cant keep playing with other mechs, it will decrease c-bill/XP income and it will make grinding worse.

I usually stick around in a match to watch other people's strategy and offer up ideas if they come to me. I only DC when I realize I managed to drop with a bunch of trials/noobs and that the only thing I can learn from them is how NOT to do things.

It's not my fault that i_d_i_o_t is apparently a bad word that this board censors for no reason.

The last guy (me) got his post deleted because he circumvented the profanity filter.

So long as you stick to calling him a **** that should stick a **** up his *** with a ****, you are apparently OK.
