Just by playing with 1 or 2 friends (not even necessarily on TS) already makes a huge difference. Going into PUGs solo you should have the lowest expectations, sometimes you will be surprised, but most of the times its just 7 random guys and you leading to chaos.

Easy, just use them as cannon fodder while you kill everyone yourself.

This is the fundamental flaw with the game, the pug game specifically. There is no reason to be the first in, and a thousand reasons not to be. I can't count the number of times I've seen a four man premade on my side just stand still for the first few minutes of the match so the pugs on their team can soften the other side up. Funny for all the premades that #$@$ on pugs, so few reach out and actually try to work with them.

@ Superchibisan
Ehm sorry, had been on 4 Man Premades... in an extremly effectiv Hunter Killer Combination.
I think we ran twice in you this evening. And we even killed twice an ECM Light Premade.
( with one ECM-Raven rest mixed weight classes)
So go on TS an search Mates to play with.
