You know that's a good point. I think the f2p business model is really the wave of the future for video games. It's shocking how easy it is to spend money when you convert it to funny money (in-game currency). It kind of lessens its perceived value over time. For example in World of Tanks: "Hell no I wouldn't spend $1.70 to change the camo on my tank permanently. Oh it's just 400 gold. Ok then..."
I'm guessing that in the long run these f2p games can make a lot more cash than the traditional $50 down, $15/month model.

- Exclusive custom "Founder's BattleMech." This 'Mech includes a lifetime, per-match C-Bill booster.
- $80 value of in-game currency* for in-game item purchases.
- Two-month premium account to MechWarrior Online at launch: Earn XP & C-Bills faster.
- Founder's Tag - sets your status apart from the crowd & get noticed in-game and on the forums.
- Early access to the game along with Founder's assets availability starts July 17th.
So think of it this way... given the description above, the "Founder's BattleMech" will have a lifetime C-Bill booster per match, plus while having access to a Premium Account, you'll have the added bonus of a Combat Experience booster along with an additional C-Bill booster... so take that "Founder's 'Mech" (singular, not plural) and get an added boost in C-Bills... can't go wrong with that... and think of it this way folks... $60 is a small price to pay for these added perks, and it helps the Devs fund servers, and further expansions in the game (and allows them to get paid too... cause no one likes being broke)

Right! In my mind that's pretty clear... You get one mech in the $60 package. My poll was just to see if people would pay more for additional Founder's Mechs if they could, and if so how much?
So far about 75% of people who have voted would pay for more mechs. I find this very intriguing because I'm sure that the actual ratio is probably higher -- I'm sure people have voted no that have no intention of buying the Elite Founder's Package at all.
I think it would be awesome if it were an actual variant, that would definitely give it more flavor.

Personally... I voted Yes given the poll created was limited and you had to vote on all polls, not just Yes or No... so regardless of my vote... I'd be perfectly happy with only ONE "Founder's BattleMech" upon release of the NA Operation: Inception deal

I would want the founder version to be able to fit k2. I do not speak from good knowledge, but afaik when you buy a mech you'll buy a variant which determines how many of what type of hardpoints it has and then you fit it the way you want.

It looks like the semi-final ratio (of people who voted) was a ratio of 3:1 in favor of buying more mechs in a Founder's Package! Most (67%) people thought $10 was reasonable for each additional mech beyond the first. Curiously enough, 41% of people really would buy all 4 mechs available!
It's pretty clear that PG could make a very nice monetary gain here if they cared to implement a feature that sold additional mechs in this package...
