while i'm not actively following CES, i seen a link to this on my Facebook page:
http://shield.nvidia.com/
now if thats not some extra degree of awesome, i don't know what is... its like an artemis without the stick, but its got a release date of Q2 2013! thats barely 6 months away!
considering artemis still doesn't even have a release date, this baby might get my money...

Please excuse my ignorance. . but it's a low power tegra 4. Granted, as these things go it's probably better than your run of the mill PoS Vita or 3DS. . . but what exactly were you planning to run on this thing? It's built on Android (which is cool) but means you're limited to the android app market, where developers will [afaik] have to would have to add controller functionality in the first place.
Don't get me wrong here, I think it's an interesting [though godawful ugly and bulky] design, but any specialized device like this is only as good as the developmental support behind it. . which I just don't see going that mainstream. And I can already run everything it can do on my Galaxy SIII or my Nexus 7. . without being encumbered by a controller.
And even then I BELIEVE with an inexpensive program and a PoS 3 controller you can bluetooth a controller to your android device [I've read about this, but never bothered to try it. . I'm just not that big into emulators] but I'm still fairly certain it can be done. . and for a lot less than the probably cost of Nvidia's creation.

yeah, it is tegra 4, and a lot less power than what would be needed to run MWO.
however, the big gem there is cloud computing.
with a kepeler based nVidia GPU, you will be able to have your PC run the game, and the GPU encode the video from it and stream it to your mobile shield, while the Shield itself acts as a controller for your PC. twitch shooters may be putting yourself at a disadvantage, but for the casual gamer... gold.
the only thing is that it requires a kepler based GPU in your PC, which, while there may be nothing they can do about it, seems a kick in the but to us running older video cards...
now don't get me wrong, i don't expect it to be lag-free, especially over your run--of-the-mill WiFi network, but that said, its a first-gen cloud gaming device, so things will only get better from here...

That is the interesting thing about this, the PC streaming for GTX 650 or higher.
It has my interest and will be interesting to see how it develops, playing PC games via handheld on the sofa does interest me alot.
As im sure it will alot of people who get GF agro!
