Hit Registration Is Ridiculous

I have to lag shoot 60 kph heavy mechs now.

We have been MORE than patient. It is a BASIC thing to be able to hit what you are shooting at. I do NOT enjoy shooting air in order to hit my target. I want to shoot my target to hit my target.

Please fix this basic gameplay function. Sh**it is getting old. REALLY OLD.

Matter of fact. Its FU*-*KING pissssing me OFF.

Fix this sh-*it.

what I find more irritating is that when a giant firefight brawl breaks out, all the action will start causing the game to clip horribly. The voice saying "overheating" and "Critical damage" will start stuttering like a flip sketch book, and so will the GFX.

It's been bad all week, but it's really really bad tonight. Hence why I'm on the forums and not in the game right now :)

Yep, i love that my ping has drop about 30 points, but I have to lead assaults to hit them with hitscan lasers. This is getting really old. I know this is basically paid alpha, since a ton of the features have yet to be implemented, but netcode needs to be on a much higher priority.

I imagine that if i contracted PGI to build my house the to do list would read something like:

1) Buy furniture

2) Decide on cable or satellite

3) Paint the walls.

etc.

I imagine that if i contracted PGI to run a chook raffle the to do list would read something like:

1) Sell tickets promising a prize chicken that will lay gold eggs

2) Charge extra for what color of chicken they want should they win

3) Spray paint a duck for the winner and tell them to take it or leave it.

etc.


Jokes aside, it's been like that over 6 months ago, with their rate of progression I think you should expect another 6 months or so for this to be addressed / fixed. If they keep it in this state for actual CW launch, it will be epic lolz when MWO get's reviewed.

I shoot mechs in the face and it work just fine.

I have a ping of 250ms and the game is just outright unplayable, what boggles my mind is that games like planetside 2 a FPS game which has HUGE maps and hundereds of players fighting together can work without any problems with the same ping. MWO is broken in the basic of the basics ( being able to shoot people )

yes the game is in beta, but when they start expecting you to pay money for things in the game they will get far less sympathy.

As far as I know, it's mainly because they decided to use server side hit registration instead of using client side hit registration like most of mmo shooter out there (such as planet side 2).that's why you still need to lag shoot even though you are using hit scan weapons. I know how it feels man.. Having to lag shoot every ******** time. Playing with 250-290ms latency as well..

Had to let off some steam

netcode is terrible and it got to me tonight

most nights i can play and bare it

I know how clientside vs serverside hit reg works, but never in my life have a seen such poor lag compensation and hitboxes. Sadly my country will never get its own local servers so the best i can play is 230ms on europe servers ( presuming they get europe servers). I ll come back in a few months to see if the game is playable B)

I don't think CryEngine was made to use server side hit detection TBH.

I sometimes find that Betty does not speak quickly enough, or in the right priority, and I often receive the heat warning until after I shut down, lol. It is like playing WoT, with the commander's lack of priority in announcing in-game events:

"Track damaged! That one went right through! The loader bought the farm! That one bounced! Optics damaged! We lit that one up good! Right track repaired! Our radio operator just stopped an AP round with his face! Oh, and btw, there's molten metal dripping down the crack of my @$$, because we've been on fire for a while."

I can almost guarantee that i have a lower/as-low fps as you. I run an average of 12~15 fps with highs of 19 and lows of 8. Netcode is bad, will continue to be bad until it is fixed( no **** Sherlock).Anything over 100 kph seems to break the netcode. When I miss shots it is 80% PEBCAK. I run around with AC20s and SRMS. I know its fun to blame netcode, but sometimes we have days where we cannot hit the broadside of a barn/Stalker. Nobody has perfect 100% all the time shooting. Some think they do, but sadly they are very very delusional, and probably the same genius who tries to shoot around a teammate to kill steal.

Also, I think that there may be a major netcode fix because of the release of the Spider in the upcoming patch. Why would they release a mech that would have to outrun everything to be relevant? Maybe this fix will also allow for speed increases?
