It seems to me that the most frustrating weapons to fire at a fast moving light are lasers. Not because I can't hold them on target, but when I do, they do almost no damage. So, like many I have to wait until the light is going to be doing the least lateral movement relative to my facing in order to do any damage. This is the same for light vs light fights too. Many people have been in a Hunchback 4P and did a full burn with 6 or more MLs to the back of an Atlas and seen the damage capability.

So, here are the questions? Do you think Lasers are going to be considered OP light mech murdering weapons once the netcode improves? Is this the main factor that makes light mech pilots seem better than they really are? (this applies to me too, btw)

I think once it improves all weapon systems will be OP to the light pilots who can't drive them. I say can't drive them as we all have been spoiled with response time being how it is. Once it's fixed the good pilots will still be good pilots. It will just make the ones who thought they were good either fair or worse.

Yes, I believe the lag shield (and lack of knock downs) makes some light pilots look better than they would be were the netcode optimized. Could be quite possible that once the netcode gets fixed, lasers will become something light pilots should be rightly afraid of. Lights should be exploiting opportunities to perform hit and run strikes and skirmishing, not getting into circle strafe brawls.

Just my two c-bills...

Aim your lasers approximately 1 body length in front of any mech going 95+ km/h (edit: more if they are going much faster, less of course if slower). You'll land your hits without having to wait for them to line up.
