So i was just curious if anyone has seen anything about knockdown coming back, or a time frame they might be looking at?
I know we all hated when someone purposely tried to ram you over and over so his friends could blast you. it was unpleasant, to say the least.
however now we have the exact opposite problem. people try to go face-hugger on you constantly. which is just bad tactics, for multiple reasons.
1) you're probably hurting your own aim if you have arm weapons. i know i cant bring mine to bear properly when someone is literally rubbing paint off my CT with theirs, even if I'm the smaller mech.
2) you're ruining your team mates firing opportunity. you could have taken that enemy down faster if you both had valid firing solutions. yeah i know we all want the kill but I'll take what i get.
3) You're likely putting yourself in a bad position. unless that enemy is alone, there is probably now at least one enemy mech that will try and kill you. you may have put yourself strait into the middle of their team, and you're more than likely going to die a horrible fiery death.
4) If/ when collision/ knockdown gets improved and reimplemented, you're building a real bad habit. I'm waiting for the day when colliding with an enemy mech at full speed does significant damage to both parties, and someone kills themselves while trying to hug me.
Just seems to me we went from one annoying tactic to another, so why did they bother? Over all i do think it needs to come back into the game, even if they change the algorithm for how knockdown happens.
