I dont think you can top 2UAC5 and 4Mlaser for the D.

You can get it going almost 80kph with that setup and fire the medium lasers every cooldown.

as always the pilot makes the build though, and Im glad to see people using PPCs!

especially on the other team :>

Phil, have you considered finding a way to make use of jump jets on your cataphract? I've actually been looking at a similar build for mine that makes use of jump jets, but with another mech building project I'm working on I haven't spent the C-bills for the parts I'd need for my phract.

Also, why do you have your PPC's on the arms instead of the side torsos? With the high mounted energy hard-points it would be a bit easier to fire over cover and convergence would be less of an issue.

Cool build. Glad to see folks trying out different builds from the standard. I've been doing the same lately. One build I made yesterday on my Dragon was 2 ERPPCs and 1 SRM 6. It packs quite a punch, and at huge ranges as well (810 meters is damn far). I could have stuffed a few more tons on it, but that would mean using an XL and then dumping my ferro (its on a Flame, you see. I use a standard engine in it so I can pack an AC/20 if I want to. Ferro fits just fine, as well as endo-steel), and I didn't want to pay to switch from ferro just for an experimental build.

The build ya'll posted runs under 1 efficiency, but I've started doing that myself with a few mechs. If you have good control, you won't suffer from it, and you can pull off some more interesting builds.

Probably because the build is an attempt to replicate the unseen Marauder from classical BT lore which would have the PPC's in the arms:

Very entertaining video and a good case study on how to play intelligently with your given weapon load out!

Makes sense. I never had the opportunity to mess around with TT or get into the books, so little things like that tend to go voer my head. Particularly the unseen stuff.
