Try Asus Boards, great value for money and durability http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/
I personally use a relatively cheap Asus P9X79 LE Motherboard with a Sandy Bridge-E i7 3930K,it runs well enough for MWO and for 3D Rendering work. im sure that a much higher end motherboard and processor combo would be more the enough for most games.

Note, once you get to the link Masagus gave you, click Intel Socket 1155, then click Intel Z77.

Do you have a computer case?

I recently did a minor upgrade and chose the I7-3770 3,4GHz proccessor (not K), and to that I picked the cheapest Gigabyte motherboard I could find, the GA-Z77-DS3H (http://ca.gigabyte.c...spx?pid=4326#ov). I can really recommend it for it's simplicity and cheap price.

Why this board? Well, it actually had all the things I needed, 3x3gbit sata for my three-disc raid 5 config, and 2x6Gbit, one for my SSD system-disc, and the other goes to the DVD. It can handle 32GB's of RAM (and I chose to get me 4x4GB 1600MHz). It has onboard sound with 3x3,5mm connectors (two to my headset, one to my amplifier) and a Gigabit Ethernetcard. I do not need anything else *shrugs*

Also, all my ASUS boards and GFX cards has malfunctioned sooner or later, so I switched to Gigabyte. So far so good =D

I run this together with my old Gigabyte Geforce 580 GTX (3x windforce) and well, I can run the game in full HD (1920x1080) with everything on max now where I previusly had to run 1360x768, everything on low except textures. FPS is mostly peaked at 60, but might drop down to 40 sometimes. My previous build with lower settings was running from 50 down to 30.

(Previous hardware: Intel I7-930 2,8GHz, 2x3GB 1600Mhz memory, Gigabyte GA-X58-UD3R motherboard.Same Discs, GFX-card and OS (havent even reinstalled))

Good luck with your build. =)

Z77 and Z75 will allow overclocking.

If you're purely building a gaming rig I'd get a 3570K though.

thanks, but i forgot to add some things to say, i want to get an SSD as a primary and 2 secondary 2TB HDDs for hard drives, and a GTX 680 4GB, with said processor and at least 12, maybe 16GB RAM. i want that much RAM because i edit videos, and i dont want to have the RAM be a bottleneck and have to go back and add more

I had a MSI GD-55 originally with the 3770K, 16GB of 1866mhz RAM and a GTX 680. It wouldn't post with the whole 32GB of RAM that came in the kit so I replaced the board with an Asus Sabertooth Z77. Its pretty awesome, looks way cool and can handle all of my components.

I upgraded my old system to a 3770 build recently. I went with the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H ( http://www.amazon.co...words=z77x-ud5h) and 16gb of G.Skill Ripjawz ram. It's been great, loads of features and rock soild stable.

Also take a look at the UD3H as someone mentioned. It's essentially the same board without some of the extra stuff for $20-30 cheaper.

Z77 Sabertooth, GA-Z77X-UD3H, Asrock Extreme 4, Asus Z77 Delux or V-Pro.

Those are some highend boards that I personally would go with. Currently rocking a Z77 Sabertooth... though I am wishing it had more voltage settings in BIOS like most Gigabyte boards have... I miss being able to change my VCCIO separate from the PCH voltage.
