Why, even though i dont run with a team and always pug. Am i subject to being thrown onto 4v4 premades? Nearly every single game i play now i am on the losing side of a 4v4 that i wanted no part of. The game solidly rests on those 4 players of a team. that is why almost all pugers win/loss ratios have gone to the basement. sure i can get 2 kills per match lately, but not a win.
You might think hey you got 4 people of your own. well not all premade teams are equal, and the matchmaker cant tell yet whose team is comprised of steele eyed mech jocks, and which team is a group of newbies who thought it would be cool to play together with no real form of extra communication (like voice chat). So i am asking, can 4v4s' just be a team of 4 people that doesn't drag inoccent puggers into the frey.
I am positive this has only become a problem in the last few months, because of the different opinions of the game, people are having a hard time keeping 8 players together. So alas there are more 4v4s than ever. And it's just downright unfair to the pug community. This and the fact that the matchmaker is Simple at best, has made me come to the conclusion that the matchmaking system is currently the worst thing about MWO right now.
Sure i might just be mad that i can't win a game. But that really just proves my point. In what fair game does the W/L amount to 20/80? Anyone else constantly being thrown into one sided battles were 4 people are mercing the hell out of people usually resulting in 8 frags for one team and 0 for the other?

Your side was probably not premades. Also, you were probably running a light: if you are running a light, you are highly likely to be up against a team group with 4 raven lights. Run a medium or heavy to have less ecm against you in general.

Actually, ive been using the stalker. that doesnt stop me from being put in a game with lights. Premades dont just run ravens ive seen a whole manner of mixes, and the last i saw before i posted this was 2 awesomes(ppcs) with 2 catapults(lrms). Also ecm atlas premades stomp faces'. that is actually the big killer other than ravens. a whole lance just seems to pop out of nowhere at the wrong time.

I don't think that the Atlas D-DC was the issue. More that the group players have the benefit of Teamspeak or voice chat.

Is there a way to tell if they're premade or pugs when hitting the tab-button? Or is it just the godlike play the opponent team sometimes do?

There is no way to know for certain. Sometimes, one side is a really bad pug and the other is pretty good. This leads lots of people to assume premade, but it's just the luck of the draw. It actually doesn't happen very frequently in my experience. When I'm on the side creaming the other guys, every time I have asked if it was a premade, it wasn't. Other times, i know I have been on that side.

There is indeed a fairly accurate way to tell if you have a group on your side or their side. I use it to tell if we have an opposed synch drop as we usually run in 4 mans and we always start at the same end of each map, unless there is another 4 man on the other team, in which case its random as to which end you'll be at or there is a 4 man plus another group of 2,3 or 4 as well on the other team and in that case we are at the other end of that map and therefore adjust our tactics accordingly.
Based on that theory i am encountering synch 4+ x drops whether be accident or design in about 1 out of every 5 matches
This is all from my own personal testing of this theory so open to contradiction

There are shocking news for you.
This Game is about teamwork and mission objectives.
Irony aside I sometimes get the same feeling in NOT 8player drops but there are much less four mann teams around then you might think. Its just that even tree random people joining together concentrating on one target and negotiating a point leader may result in a 8 - 0 loss for the oposing team just running solo.
So beeing not in a team and not wanting a part of a team and running after kills not achiving your primary mission objektive may be the reason why you constantly loose.
You don't need a group to be effective in random drops. Just forget your personal goals select a leader and stay close to this mech just shoot at the same target he is shooting and
DONT RUN THROUGH OPEN TERRAIN AT THE ENEMY
Sorry for the Drama but this is still the most common cause for instant losses I encounter in random drops.
Often I see an Atlas or an other large mech just walking along the Nr 3 line in caustic followed by a bunch of other mechs all just getting shoot from sniper hill. End of storry.
