What are most pilots doing in a match? I dont know how many pugs I get into with me being the only useful one on the team. Here I am running around trying to help win and next thing I know its 3 minutes into the match and my whole team is wiped. Does this happen much to many other people? Feels like a really good noob tutorial would be useful IE this is your crosshairs this is how you toggle fire groups this is how you fire your weapons. teach these guys how to play with some single player bootcamp or something cause the pug stomping is getting rediculous.

Many players are hyper aggressive or super passive. This means that
1) Half will die within the first two minutes.
2) The other half will do nothing until they are the only ones left, and proceed to get rolled by a much larger force.
Some players stop the bad habits, others take longer to figure things out. The game has a pretty steep learning curve. They'll learn.

Still think they should implement like a welcome to MWO basic bootcamp thing. Maybe some simple NPC's that run around for target practice or something. Pick your trial mech and learn the game maybe get a free million C bills for the first time you complete it or something. Just a thought though I think it would reduce the learning curve a bit

Puglife didn't chose you, you chose puglife.
EDIT: A simple training map where you have several unarmed mechs of each weight class. Some move, some stand still, and their only purpose is to give newbies a chance to get used to running around, aiming, and hitting without worry of retaliation.

Have you ever played any MW4 title? They had a great tutorial thing where it at least attempted to show you what every control on your mech was and how to use it properly in combat.
MW2:Mercs even had a tutorial with Deadeye, showing you how to go through nav points, use your targeting system and blow stuff up.

All invaluable lessons. How to get the most salvage, how to not die in a light mech, how to use your extra vision enhancements, and dodging friendly fire lines. The best advice any mech pilot could give a new guy, 16 years ago...
Trying to find a MW4 training video, since it gives the best example. Might have to install it and upload it to YT myself.

Well, if you see me on the field, I am either flanking, flanking, or flanking. Unless it is caustic, then I hang out until there is a barnyard brawl, then I assist anybody who I think has an idea of what they are doing. Or killing ToO's if they try to run.
Sometimes it is fun being a pug and surprising your team when the enemy gives a smug "gg"

locking the mechbay (all mechs) when you are in match with one would start to tackle this problem.
and yes, I see it, too..... suiciders, rambos, blind hardcore campers, lemmings, Hello Kitty players, etc. I could rant all day long bout it
LTMB !!! (Lock The MechBay) ^^. it would stop farming with multiple trial mechs, also.
