just based off that picture from MWT it seems they have no respect for the mechs or anything. this confirms my: so not going to play it.

So this thread is about how a mech with a huge, iconic gun on it's shoulder might not be easily recognised because they sensibly made it look less rubbish?

Right..

Ok, This may sound a bit weird but, I think the Hunchback we will see in this game is an odd departure from the Hunchback as listed in the TRO stuff and on Sarna. Example: Posted Image

that pic is from sarna, what Id like yall to notice is how ROUND the torso is as well as its 'calves' then look at the Hunchback as we have it here in game. THAT is more boxy than the image in my post. Anyone else slightly confused by the visual change? Not saying it wont be a wicked mech, just sayin the visual looks a lil odd based on the above.

just to make it easy here is the MWO Hunchback: Posted Image

well the shoulder gun and cockpit window shapes are spot on, the arms are nice, and the legs are a huge improvement on the redesign. the torso is still rounded at the belly.

The hell is that?! That looks like the horrible lovechild of a Dragon and a Hunchback, with a little Legionnaire thrown in for good measure.

The FD Hunchback is the best Hunchback ever. Yes, he has updated the design, but I feel he did a fantastic job of making all the mechs look amazing while retaining the same atmosphere. The old art of the Hunchback is rather skinny ans his limbs look silly, not nearly an imposing as Fd's redesign.

This is a Hunchback you don't want to run into in a dark alley.

Considering how ugly the original TRO artwork for it is, I'm extremely glad they went with this direction.

Nitpick moar plz.

We should be honored that FD came up with such an amazing re-design of the Hunchback. We're worlds apart from what MW:T got.

lol poor MW T,I was saying to myself why they have so ugly mechs,I thought its some legal shizzle, like the unseen reseen
so out of curiosity I came to their forums and to my shock and lols they were actualy advocating its elephant legs like

Thankfully, the ridiculous legs of the TRO version are gone. Seriously, what is with those feet?

The MW:O version is an excellent interpretation: it keeps the recognizable essentials and ditches the disaster going on below the knees of the original.

***... way to ruin the best mech of all time. I swear MW:T needs to design better looking mechs. I dont mind them departing a little from the classic designs, but holy crap cant they make the mechs look less terrible?

Where are you guys getting these pictures? I went to the MWT site and all it is is a forum and a splash page.

**Found a link with a bunch of pics after snooping in their forum: http://www.destructo...post_key=222342**

I think the MWT mech looks pretty cool. Its just NOT a hunchback. I and quit picking on the TRO huncbacks platform boots. Those things were totally cool in the 70s Unfortunately I know this....................I was there.

i love the hunchback design because it is upgraded and stays true to original
but the Mechwarrior Tactics is horrible it looks like someone took a dragon and removed its parts and replaced it with the hunchbacks and its the right torso not the left...

On this note, I'm thinking it would be cool if they released a new line of TT minatures based on FDs designs. All of his look so much better then the orginials in my opinion. They look more beefy and more armored, the way a combat mech 'should' look.

It's already been said pretty much but here's my 2 C-Bills:

The Hunchback does look WAY different from the old one. But I do feel they've done a great job (so far on every 'Mech) of taking the essence of the old one and making them feel like they're actually meant to go to War.

It doesn't look dainty or have some rediculous ball-joints that would NEVER work in combat. It's built to be beefy, functional and easily fixable. And that's the vibe I get, that this could actually be stomping around on a BattleField with half it's torso shot off and still working. :D

Maybe a lot of the people who like the older artwork like it for the same reason I do, nostalgia. We were younger back then and enjoyed ourselves in a simpler and even purer way. Maybe they don't like the new rehashed designs because it doesn't hold that same old-school nostalgia that those old crappy looking designs hold in our hearts. I for one like the new designs, but I will always love those old designs, crappy engineering school drawings or not.

Really? I mean they are offly similar. I think the fact you immediately recognize it AS a hunchback speaks volumes. This isn't that big of a deviation.

I look at the Hunchback redesign, and I see a Hunchback. Redesigned. It's unmistakably a Hunchback, only it's scarier and way more functional-looking.
