Last match:

Overheated Raven - head shot .... or at least that what it was supposed to be.
All in all I put between 300 and 400 damage on that thing and it was still flawless (almost).

That was the moment when I noticed that MWO is very very close to TT.
The LAG is just what the dice were in TT :P.
So I shoot and ... *roll* ...damn.. this time I had no luck.

I have to agree, today I had my first games where lag was so evident and it really kills the fun.

Starting at a ping of 260, I've heard that the netcode needs work and if it does add anything onto ping times then the game is bordering unplayable.

Not a great evening.

Yeah, just with the exception that in TT the raven can be hit with the same accuracy as the enemy if they shoot each other... and not 5% to ~90% like in MWO.

I think the problem with Ravens is that their hitboxes are so close together that damage is spread evenly across them.

What would kill an atlas, makes Ravens / Jenners / Cicadas / Commandos just go yellow.

I think it's the problem of size and speed combined with lag shields. On tabletop any mech was just as easy or hard to hit as any other mech depending only on how fast they were moving and what cover they had.

Here light mechs are tiny specs that not only move fast but have tiny hitboxes, and are *also* very easily obscured by cover that just reaches up to an assault mechs waist.

Part of this is understandable since the devs are trying to create a game where light mechs won't get pulverized by a casual glance, it just makes dealing with them a real pain, and makes them extremely powerful with the so called lag shields.

But then hit detection in general seems to be borken.
I just was face to face with an Awesome that had no armor and dark red internal CT.
I put two alphas into that CT and the guy just refused to die. I can only guess that
the shots somehow were detected to be side torso hits.
And I think you all agree it is quite difficult to miss the CT of a non-moving Awesome from <90m

I wrote a ticket to support

But they said they first have to fix the netcode.
So you have to choose your priority.

Nate Silver, who is crunching the numbers of my MWO polls to get better predictions for the next election said:
"If you want to vote 1 and 3 then 3 is dominant since it is a factual state as opposed to 1"
  :)
