probably will master this class as well.
So kind of waiting for it, not sure if anxiously.
I think it will be the light mech which actually requires skill to get kills (or damage for that materr) because of low weapon loadouts, but remains to be seen, sure as hell, it will be a mech that requires a lot of thinking to put together, i mean, if it has 6-8 jumpjets _that_ alone will eat up a lot of weight, that could be used on armor, weapons (+ammo) and heatsinks, and also, it is a 30 tonner, meaning it will require bigger engine than commando, which also eats up weight, if you want to make it move.

i am waiting for this, have been waiting for it since they annnounced it, but anxiously? -not so much :)

Honestly, JJs have been so reduced from TT ranges, other than getting on top of a low building what use are they? 4 JJ on a Catapult is 41m worth of jump? That used to be like 120m in TT. In TT a Spider was a very annoying mech to fight since it was so maneuverable. But with the same speed as every other fast light mech, I am not sure what sort of niche it will fill.

Not irrelevant. At the least it will be a successful scout and acquire its points for spotting and tagging targets like a commando with wings yet not as hardy as the jenner. The stock jenner still is superior to the stock spider. The spider will be superior to the commando in every way except missile capability. In fact, the missile hardpoints will be the only thing keeping the commandos from becoming an obsolete mech once the spider launches. This all follows logic given that a 35 ton light is better than a 30 ton light is better than a 25 ton light. Now add the ECM variant of the spider and you have the only ECM mech with jump jets in the game, so that is a definite special role assigned to this mech. What will an ECM mech with jump jets do that Ravens, Commandos, and Cicadas can't? Who knows! But we're going to find out (hopefully). At the very least, the ECM spider is now "better" than a stock jenner and fills a unique tactical role among the ECM lights as its second role. Now swap the medium lasers for an ER LL or ERPPC as its only weapon and you have an effective light sniper jump mech to compete against the cicada and jenner snipers. I would argue that superior jumping might make the ER LL spider sniper superior to jenner at long range effectiveness. Now merge all three (max jump jets, ECM, sniper beam weapon) and hopefully keep your speed (this combination may not be possible) and you have a mech with three roles: scouting, cloaking, and sniping.

I am Passing on the spider, I have a Commando and it moves at 140 Mph and dos 20 ** in a pass.
Reading the stats of the Spider tell me its a Joke and can only be viable if lagsheild is in play.

You may love your max speed commando, but jump jets add a whole new element to playing this game. For one thing, you get to position yourself on terrain you can't imagine if you never play a mech with JJ's. Things like high rocks, building roofs, and tops of cranes and cathedrals become part of your map. Secondly, jumping over enemies becomes part of your routine maneuverability in addition to running circles around them or staying on their back as light pilots like to do. You may not think that this is a big deal, but it's a different way to play once you experience it. Suddenly you are playing a 3D tactical game while everyone else is stuck on a 2D map with feet glued to the ground. If JJ's were offered to your commando you would likely use them at least sometimes.

Another "sneak, dakka dakka, run away" 'mech, and it mounts ballistics and jump jets to boot. Definitely has a spot in my stable.

No. Solely because the only light I really prefer piloting is the Raven. I've always liked it since way back when I first used it during MechCommander. My main disappointment with it was it's god awful looks. However the second I saw the concept art for it in MW:O I wanted one. Now I'm leveling them up. But I have to admit the 3L is stupidly OP with ECM on it.
