Can the developers give us the ability to use searchlights on our mechs? I know we have night vision and thermal, but having the OPTION to use searchlights would be a cool addition. It should be easy to implement into the game.

Agreed. We've been asking for this since the early closed beta days. I can't imagine why mechs wouldn't have a searchlight.

I would love this, you should move this to the suggestions forum though so they actually see this...

I think that the technology that is requires to make a light bulb has been lost, kidding. I would want a search light for my mech too.

Wouldn't they make you even easier to hit and see than the red eyes of Atlases (before that was removed)?

That will be solved by adding a button to turn it off.

yup, if theyre included though I would hope for a power switch to shut them off :)
would be nice to have though, Ive found myself in several situations where both teams are clustered close together in a biug brawl wishing I had something other than heat or night vision
A couple "headlights" or similar search lights would be awesome imo
I think it would add a very fun dynamic to an otherwise dark and dreary map

I can imagine that you use spot light to focus fire, firing at whatever the light shines on.

I agree. Having them run "hot" and being able to use them to disrupt night& thermal vision at close range would be very interesting too.

there is lots of potential for spotlights and other lights mounted on the mech to add some interesting gameplay and tactics :)

There is no way we are getting search lights .... they fall into the lostech category like rear view mirrors and mech turn signals!

but yes it sounds like a cool idea

Would be fun on the night maps where there is that 1 Dbag on your team who wont stop talking shet. You just put 7 friendly spotlights on him.

This would be intensely amusing in River City Night.

Also, it should be in the "Suggestions" sub-forum, where it's more likely to get dev attention.

By this time next year, there will be actual Christmas lights decorating the mechs. Not just in the cockpit.

I got a better idea, instead of searchlights how about a big flashing neon sign that says "HEY EVERYBODY! I"M OVER HERE!" . If your going to give your position away might as well do it with style.

The lostech stuff that people are saying is funny, but not true.. Mech's do actually have search lights.. or at least clan mech's do.. Been playing a wars of reaving campaign on megamek TT and whenever infantry or battle armor is in play you can see the rolls for searchlights to focus on them fail / succeed

Searchlights would be a fun addition to the toolkit. Nothing majorly game-changing, just a neat thing.

There is a heck of a lot I'd prefer to see implemented in the game before searchlights.

Good idea but lets get community warfare and lag issues sorted first :)
