I could see my expensive camo setup.

I was thinking the same thing. I went and painted my mech up all nice and I only get to see it when I die.

There's a lovely game coming out that has TPV in the MW universe, it's called MW:Tactics. You should go check it out.

3rd person view that is oriented only towards the front of your mech so you can pose and take screenshots of yourself =D

I would most likely go with OTS (over the shoulder) Third person where depending on your cockpit orientation the camera corresponds to it. (ie right eye cockpit can see to the right farther than the left. middle cockpit gets the same amount of "look" as inside the cockpit).
We can have TPV where we can look at our hot bods but doesn't break the game (ie, not much else). I think the over reaction comes from 210deg FoV static TPV. if we limit it to what's inside the cockpit, then we can pull it off without *much* grumbling.

You could see it in the mechlab. No need to dumb down and cater to the lowest common denominator with moron 3rd person view.
You will only be able to see it in the mechlab, if the gamble on COD crowd having the attention span to stay here and spend money, instead of buying the newest *gasp COD, doesn't pay off. And if the "vocal minority" bails on this piece.

Someone should invent a mirror on a flexible arm I can attach to my head so I can see myself when I wear lipstick.
