I don't know where to put this so just posting here, mods feel free to move to relevent section :)

I unlocked all the basic proficiencies for one of the jenners, sold it and bought another one with the view to working on that one - checked the pilot tree for the original one and it shows 0/8 for all the ones I just unlocked? Is this a bug or just not updated properly? I hope I don't have to do them all over again when I switch back to it...?

If you rebuy the mech it show 8/8 again. it show the stats of own mech only. I think they need to change this, but you don't have to redo it.

Don't sell your mech if you can avoid it. You are going to have to grind out the elite eventually, and if you keep selling a buying the same mechs you will waste a lot of c-bills.

You bought the same Mech (different version) 3 times, piloted them all 3 to master...selling one resets everything to zero until you buy that same version back.

You need the 3 mechs in your Lab to actually be able to put points in the skills.

The maximum Mechbays are 14 at the moment. 14/3 = 4,x so you can master 4 different Mechtypes if you do not sell your old/used ones.

And no...you can NOT bring the basics of 1 mech up, sell it and then buy another one. You need to OWN THEM.

I was discussing this yesterday with a friend :/ Hopefully it works like this: Lets say I just like the jenner F but obviously i need to buy all the other jenners to unlock more prof. Hopefully as I buy and sell the other jenners I can still unlock the advanced proficiencies

EDIT: nvm see above :C

but unlocked proficiencies stay unlocked for the mech i keep? I'd hate to keep 2 useless hunchbacks (or those i don't like) just to keep the one i use skilled...

as i recall from closed beta, if you have everything you want on a mech you can go ahead and sell the other variants without losing the unlocks for the mech you're keeping

This was my experience. Unless they changed it since then, not sure what everybody else is smoking. At the end of CB, I bought 3 Centurions, unlocked basic on all of them, and then sold off 2. I could continue unlocking elite advances on the one I owned, and the other variants displayed as 8/8 basic with some xp laying around, but I was not allowed to actually spend that xp.

The unlocks do not go away, if you buy that chassis variant back it will still be unlocked. The most economical way to Master is to buy and keep all 3 until you have them unlocked.

Buy more mechbays. They're only $1.50 (or less) each.

FOr the 6.95 pack of MC you can get 4 mech bays....Buy the next level up and you can get 10....Its almost like they planned this.

You do not need to have three variants of a Mech in your hangar to unlock Elite or Master.
Here is how I did it for my Jenners, Hunchbacks and Dragons:
-bought and played the variant I wanted to keep until Basic was 8/8
-bought and played one variant I did not want to keep until 8/8 Basic then sold it
-bought and played another variant I did not want to keep until 8/8 Basic then sold it
-unlocked Elite on the first variant I want to keep
I could not be bothered with Master yet but it'll work exactly the same.

Quick question I have 3 centurions, 2 have all basic skills unlock the 3rd is about half way. Can I sell 2 of the mechs once I buff one of the cents up to Elite, or do all three have to stay in my bay for the elite bonus on the one mech?

Thanks

Why can't we also buy bays for like 50 million cbills or soemthing everyone agrees on as fair?

Everything you just said is pretty much wrong. See correct answers from others.
