Yes, by a fair bit. It also increases the time you have before you lose your lock, if they leave your LOS.
At least this has been my experience.
I also hear that upgrading your mech for Artemis will also reduce streak lock times, though I haven't tested this myself yet.

But that increased Lock time comes with a hefty weight price tag. You have to pay that weight for each Launcher and ALL launchers get one. What is the % of lock-on increase?

That's the trick though... the rumor I hear (again, haven't tested this myself) is that due to the way Artemis is coded... Streak SRMs get the bonus lock-on speed even though you don't have to pay for extra crit slots and tonnage.
So you are supposed to just pay for the Artemis upgrade, and then get the bonus regardless.
Though you may have to combine it with an Artemis SRM or LRM on the same mech to get the benefits on the SSRM.
I've heard both, and haven't tested it myself yet.
According to this... http://mwowiki.org/w...=Artemis_IV_FCS
Artemis is supposed to provide %50 bonus to lock-on time and tracking (takes longer to lose full lock when out of sight, and it doesn't degrade as fast).
However, the wiki also says it doesn't affect SSRMs, and I keep hearing the opposite (likely a bug).
Who knows though! Test it out for us if you have the cbills.

Anyway, he was asking about TAG specifically. I just added the Artemis bit after the fact.

ok thanks, so it does decrease lock time and increases the time you can keep a lock on a mech that leaves your line of sight?

I'd like TAG to work in the ECM bubble so Jenners can Streak back at Ravens and Commandos. Also gives heavies a chance to Streak. Still would be a pain in keeping the laser on a Raven but better than nothing.

That is correct. Artemis only affects the missile launcher it is attached to. Since Artemis cannot be added to SSRMs, it doesn't provide a bonus to it.
