My heat inefficiency is showing different numbers. Did they actually change something with heat? Havnt been able to get in a game yet (Peeps still patching I'm guessing)

I could have sworn my DDC was at 1.37, now it's showing 1.51.

There was a bug where it would base the heat efficiency off SHS even if you had dubs, maybe they fixed that?

Possibly they fixed it so that engine doubles are being read correctly for heat efficiency?

Finally got in a drop, no actual change from what I can tell

I will take a guess:

In the past they changed the calculation of heat for each weapon separately What they did was to lower the amount of heat certain weapons made as they concern the heat scale. The effect allowed 1 ERPPC to be considered more heat efficient than 4 ML, which is untrue.

My guess is they messed with the numbers more.

In essence the MWO heat scale has been lying to people for quite some time but very few people knew / cared.

All my heat scales are changed. Heat efficiency is displayed as more efficient as before.

The heat efficiency is supposedly better now. I'm gonna crank up the heat on my mech and see how it runs now.

I wouldn't do that. They likely did not change any heat produced by weapons. It is veil to cover a broken heat system.

For example before this patch, when you added a LRM/5 it only adds 45% of its heat output to your heat scale.

You wouldn't test something to be sure? Sounds like someone isn't familiar with the scientific method.

The stock stalkers used to run around .85. My vote is put your Heat scale there and see what happens.

Yes.

My Raven went from 1.22 to 1.44.

My Cicada went from 1.32 to 1.5.

They did something. Why do they always leave stuff out of the patch notes?

I repeat;

From what I can tell, only what heat efficiency shows in mechlab has changed. Not actual heat.

This isn't the first change to the scale. Just the first time people have noticed.

Confirmed

The readout in the mechlab is telling me my mechs are cooler than they were prepatch

Are my mechs actually cooler is the question..

They are not. I just tested it.

My K2 with 19 DHS still takes 7.5 seconds to fully cool down from a dual ERPPC shot with basic efficiency.

I had a fantastic game once I finished my testing. Six kills, 150,000 c-bills.

It's likely they just changed the "heat efficiency" read-out so that it more accurately reflects in-engine heat sinks running at 2.0. This is good because it means that heat efficiency is a much more useful stat when mech-building.
