this file keeps ending up missing and i cant seem to get it to work i tried to use the Microsoft trouble shoot but the site says it was discontinued due to damage it caused to computers so is there any other way to fix this i have reinstalled it three times now and same file keeps popping up as missing and its probably what causes the game interface failing to start up.

That file is part of the dx9c installation. DX10/11 are not backward compatible so Vista/W7/w8 comes with a bare bone dx9c files to allow generic 9c only games to run but does not have all of the necessary modules game devs may use. Now, depending on manufacturer of the system DX9c may be updated but that is a rare cookie.

Get either the initial small download and run it

thanks i will skip to the larger down load since id like to get out of boring shooters will tell u if it works

On the large one, it needs to be unpacked/unzipped to a temp folder, then run the dxsetup.exe from there.

well its been 2 hours and it will be another two hours before the reinstall is finished and i know if it works hope it does it brings that feel of xbox mech assault back to mind but with out the exploding mechs lol. wish i could burn this two hours away cuase i cant play games while the down load is crippling our wi fi and internet its bad but now its like not there i think dial up goes faster when we do stuff like this then try to play something.

nope still same file is missing we updated the file u listed because we already had it but has no effect do i have to totally reinstall this again when we try the next thing if there is something else to try
