The K2 was my first 'mech...and I still love it. I don't use it much anymore as I'm trying to get other chassis up to Master, but whenever I just wanna do some thrashing I jump in and start blowing stuff up.
First up is a quad Large Laser K2, my first choice:
CPLT-K2 LLas
And a quad PPC build:
CPLT-K2 PPC
Moving over 80 KPH with this kind of firepower far outweighs the vulnerabilities of an XL engine, the 'mech is fast enough to run circles around just about everything and punch pinpoint holes in the right components.
What are your thoughts?

This is my sustained-DPS K2 :
CT:
BAP
XL 300
2x DHS in XL engine
RT:
PPC
2x DHS
LT:
ER PPC
2x DHS
LA:
MedLas
3x DHS
RA:
MedLas
3x DHS
Modules:
Advanced Zoom
Max Standard Armor, all locations.
Standard IS.
22 total DHS.
64.7 tons.
The ER PPC gives you up close & long range punch. The MedLas are in the arms since it's more likely you need farther range of motion @ close quarters. This build is virtually impossible to overheat when just using the 2 PPC's. While your alpha isn't as great, you are able to keep an enemy under sustained fire for a long time. Great for racking up Assists.

I usually go with the 2ERPPC, 2LL build: CPLT-K2
The ERPPCs are useful given the current trend toward long range combat (or if you happen to line up the perfect shot on a light mech within 90m), while the far more heat efficient LLs are your primary weapon during brawls.
I've done some math comparing the 4LL build with this one, and if you're within 450m, then given a 20s engagement starting from zero heat (and assuming you have all the pilot upgrads), you can get 8.48 dps with the LLs vs 8.05 with the LLs and ERPPCs. Move things out to 500m though, and the added range on the ERPPs push the dps in favor of my build. I like having the flexibility.

Fixed that for you.
