Hello, I've seen some people talking about 4v4 matches, but I only see the option for 8v8. How can I have access to 4v4?

4v4 matches are not currently available in the game, only 8v8. What you might be hearing about are 4 man drops. This is not a 4v4 but instead when you have a premade group of 4 player on one side (possibly up to two 4 man groups on each side depending on matchmaking).
Basically, when someone talks about "4 man" drops what they mean is 4 players dropping as a team in a regular 8v8 match. Since premade teams often use voice chat have one or two groups on a team against a team with no premade groups usually offers a significant advantage.

There is no 4 vs 4 mode. all matches are 8 vs 8 (not including disconnected or crashed players who may cause a team to be short handed)

Thanks, it's all clear now, however how can I choose who do I side with and how they end up in the same team, as from what I've seen the game just assigns me randomly to one of the teams?

By using the Social Menu (bottom right of the launcher) you can Add Friends to your friends list, and then you can Create a Group and invite your friends to the group. Then you and your group can drop together and you will be on the same team.
Group options are 4 man(1-4 players) and 8 man (8 players mandatory)
This thread has a big list of voice servers you can use to find and communicate with a group http://mwomercs.com/...e-chat-servers/

See this guide for a rundown on using TeamSpeak to find groups to play with.
