First of all I really suck at this game, I love it, I am just not very good. I love the Battletech/Mechwarrior games, novels, etc, and I know my History!

Since I suck, I am working on maxing out my experience in my third Atlas. The "bigger the better" right? and I am improving, I get at least 200 damage per game now B)

Regardless, I only PUG, and I was in a match last night, and we must have been up against an 8 man group, because all the enemy mechs were Medium mechs or lighter (not your normal "balanced" drop). We were actually pretty organized (for a PUG group), we chatted, decided where to go, and we all stayed together, until...

They ran around us like gnats! We were walking in circles, bumping into each other, mistakenly shooting each other, oh the horror... by the end they had totally decimated us... and all I can say is...
COOL! :D

Granted as an Assault pilot, most people would be angry, but those guys had real skill. Unlike the boardgame, I love the fact that simply being in the biggest, "best" machine doesn't mean squat! You can be just as effective in something small, IF you got the skill! Heck, look at Justin and Kai Allard :D

I wish the game hadn't ended so quickly so I could have asked what was the name of their Team.

the bigger the better is a formula in other games that is not nescessarily true in MW:O... the more teammates around you the better is a more fitting formula^^

assault mechs depend heavily on their support to keep their backs clean...genrally that counts for every one...

In before "They beat you with netcode"

Glad to see not everyone has the "I'm in the biggest mech you can't kill me mentality."
Being a dedicated light pilot a tip to beat us is put your back to a wall, this forces the light mech to either stay in your view or get stuck/hung up on things to your left and right, in which case a few, well placed shots end him. Letting them get behind you is death so put your back to a wall and force us to fight infront of you... And also take wide, slow turns to stay infront of you.

Size doesn't matter in here. Light mechs are supposed to be able to take down assualts.... in packs.

Yes there are things going on that make it easy mode for the lights but simply saying they beat assualts is meaningless.

When you shoot a light that its dead stopped in front of you (with 6 ll) and it runs off something is wrong with the game period.

Exactly... 6 LL's should core a 35=>. There's your balance issue. Not lag so much. If it was a real situation the lil fast moving buggers would be a blur, BUT... A direct hit or a couple of glancing from a Heavy or Assault should cinder the lil weasels....

Maybe I'm just a bad pilot of anything heavy or slow, but whenever I use a light mech with ECM I'm in the top 3 almost every time with 2-4 kills and some assists...
Yes, I can kill light mechs with any other mech. But it takes long and even longer if you can't use SSRMs because the light mech is equipped with ECM.
I've also had it happen alot of times that I shoot at a shutdown light mech. Point blank range, standing still and hitting it with SRMs, lasers and ACs...and dealing NO damage at all.
It's no surprise that light mech pilots are not affraid of facing a heavy or assault mech. No, they are sweet targets for them.
I always see lights hunt and chase slow mechs while their smarter counterparts on the opposing team take them (the light mechs) out...

A fixed netcode will be a big improvement. How much difference it will make, I don't know. But I hope it's enough to enable other mechs to hit and hunt down light mechs more reliable.

I stopped playing most of my other chasis and use my Raven most of the time to farm money for Highlander and Trebuchet. I tried alot of mechs and loadouts, but none come even close to be as effective, except the Atlas D-DC maybe.

This is the part most people don`t understand. You don`t need much skill if your only trick is the circle dance, but anything beyond that requires real piloting skills.

You can easily see if a pilot is skilled: If he hits every wall and obstacle, its just another FOTM-Hero. If he slaloms around everything, looking like a professional dancer ... run and hide in fear.
