So canon has no impact whatsoever, all because your crystal ball knows which JJ's will go on it? You really don't think it possible that it could have a class of JJ's not currently implemented?

The simple fact is that none of the mechs that use JJs in the game can get a fraction of the distance that they can in canon. JJs in canon are a big advantage to a mech. JJs in MWO are pretty much useless.

Your math might be right, but your numbers are probably wrong. With 3 jump jets giving a 90 ton mech a range of 90 meters, they're probably different classed jump jets than the Cats and Lights use.

Jump Jets don't work like they do in tabletop. They are broken. Norris' math is generally spot on.

...

But don't worry guys I'm sure they'll have this all figured out by the time the Highlander rolls around! That's plenty of time! It can't be that hard to tune right? Right?! I mean, they won't release a mech without one of its key features being in a workable state right?!! It won't be like the Spider at all guys...

Let's pray they get this right. Highlander and, should it ever come, Marauder are the 2 mechs I might get as hero mechs.
If the Highlander can't jump at least the 90m it should (and I don't mean hover 1m over the ground), it's dead for me.

Yeah, since when is NGNG the place to go for info? Why is it so damn hard for the developers to put accurate info on their own site? Half the time it's "NGNG said" this or "Garth said on reddit" that. This is the least professional gaming company I've ever seen, and I've seen the Bioware forums.

read (OR heard on NGNG). Going off on a rant like that just based on one acronym, you must have quite a chip on your shoulder.

Actually, it was at http://mwomercs.com/

Paul already addressed the issue basically saying jump jets are under performing. It was shortly after the jump jet over fix.

It seems I've actually read it somewhere on MWOMercs.com.

So much for that.

After an entire weekend of facing PPC/PPC/Gauss pop tarting Cataphracts, it will be a refreshing change of pace to see a 90 ton mech pull it off with twice the firepower. </sarcasm>

But no, seriously, jump jets let you spin around fast enough to shoot the light mechs. Want.

Wouldn't it be great if it let you jump (i.e. you got some forward velocity out of it)?

Imagine if jump jets added forward accelleration when they were first pressed - and decellerated if pressed a second time. You could move slightly faster than other mechs. This could be compensated for by lowering the recharge time (so you could jump less often).

Yeah, let's make them just like Hawken, the game we all WISH we were playing :)

27m? what?

Catapults have 4 jumpjets and jump 24m.

So a Highlander with 3 jumpjets should at most jump 18m.

While probably only attaining a height of 2m. I thought DFA was waiting for the new improved collisions to be reintroduced?
