Well, I have tried to keep playing, to have fun with the current state of the game. I was REALLY hoping this patch was going to keep my hopes up. FINALLY a new mech. For me the spider is near unplayable and I really have fun playing it, UNTIL a ECM raven comes and its impossible to run, hide, or win against it and I die in 10 seconds. I am going to take a break from MWO until they fix light mechs. I want to know if there are any good F2P games out there that are really worth trying. (not hawken)! MWO feels like they spend a year making the base game. Fired all the people that made the game pre-alpha, and hired new staff. oh and on top of all this, the next hero is a COMMANDO with lasers? do the devs even playtest this ****?
So, FUN F2P suggestions please. (I tend not to hear of a game until someone tells me about it)

Tribes ascend was pretty fun, but I haven't played it in about a year or so. Airmech is a fun distraction type game. I can't really recommend league of legends because the community is filled with elitist asshats, that aside it has good core gameplay. Blacklight retribution is fun in spurts, but it's definitely CoD type gameplay (despite what TT die hards say CoD is a fun game, just gets a little repetitive).
Other than that I still find paying 60 bucks for a full game is a much better deal. Most free to play games end up like MWO, unfinished and never delivering the promises made, OR the end up like WoT being a pay to win mess for idiots who like to flush their money down a toilet to win at a game no one really cares about.

World of Tanks.
Same slow and strategic game style, bit more grindy but some fun can definitely be had there. Way more polished since it's been up for over two years now.

Tribes Ascend is a fine fine game if you never played the original Tribes. You will get lots of fun without paying anything for it if that is your thing. They probably still have that facebook thingy that will give you free gold and I think you can pick up a free spinfusor for the soldier class. That is enough to play the game and have fun.
You will be amazed about the netcode that actually works and the game does not need a monster machine to run.
If you are bad at games you can still use some automatic weapon and do great. It is so easy to use. If you feel like a manly man you can start using the grace weapons and mortar. This takes far more skill but will feel very rewarding.
I hate Tribes Ascend but for any Tribes virgin it will be awesome. The pure speed of it will be fresh and cool and after you manage to serial disc someone in the air you will feel great. That will take some practise though.
I have not played it for some time so things may have changed.

There is several must have mods for that game. Be sure to read up on it on the WoT forums.
If you like tanks or tank destroyers or just want to be the supreme ******* by playing artillery;
WoT rocks. You will never be facing 50-100% premade enemy team. Unlike this game WoT is fair.

How do you justify special pay to win ammo?
Fail...you apparently havnt logged into wot in some time. There is no more ptw ammo ie. gold ammo, now those same shells are purchasable with credits not only gold.
Sorry for off topic...simply felt the need to correct erronous statement.

Playing Planetside 2 now, only for the bliss of knowing that I'll kill if I point my crosshair on the other guys head, without a need to lead about friggin 100m in front. You only have to lead when you have slow ballistics, which is cool. The netcode there is the best I ever saw.
Very grindy, but man, I couldn't stand the netcode anymore on MWO. It made me go beserk the last days, it even feels worse than before the last patch.
