it has been said over and over by forum users that this game is beta.

So why ignore the beta testers?

[REDACTED]
No, that'd be denial, and ignoring the issue just ends up killing you, when you could have gotten it treated. Here is the [REDACTED] test PGI: http://mwomercs.com/...esponse-survey/

I'm not saying its okay to be rude in these forums, but take it objectively as an indication that there are some issues in the game.

List?

1) every problem presented is blown way out of proportion

2) no incremental change is good enough for this community

3) typically the criticism misses the "constructive" part

4) you rehash problems they have addressed every ******* day until they are fixed

5) unrealistic self-entitlement

6) narrow view of game development

7) everything is aired in public like dirty laundry rather than emailed directly to PGI

8) most ideas are myopic and don't take other playstyles/setups/people into consideration

so ignore the balance problems completely? I don't see any incremental changes to MG damage, or PPCs that has actually balanced it. For the record PPC balance has been on the to do list since god knows when, and we will actually get it god knows when.

any incremental changes to ECM?

anyone here see any incremental changes to ECM

Everything has been addressed and has proposed changes other than ECM, which PGI and most competitive players believe is fine.

Everyone who cries about ECM is a baby who hasn't played a competitive round in their life.

no... PGI's most competitive players field 8 man teams with all ECM mechs.

of course they think its fine. you ever try to run an 8 man? nobody wants to make an 8man because they get stomped by PGI's most competitive teams with all ECM.

the ECM issue hasen't even been acknowledged

You're right. You don't see it and PGI hasn't directly contacted you to ensure that your precious MGs are being looked into, therefore there's no possible way that they could be working on coding it, or testing it out internally. Right?

I don't think I could present a more complete list of why the devs don't waste every minute responding to every whiny thread on this forum.

In order to get a realistic depiction of what's -actually- going on with their game, the developers need to gather data, analyze that data, discuss the results with the appropriate teammates, discuss possible tweaks, implement the tweaks, test the tweaks, balance the tweaks, retest the tweaks, rebalance the tweaks, etc. etc. etc. They aren't going to come out and tell us every little change they're making, because all of this crap is in flux and constantly changing within their closed servers. They'll tell us when they have the fixes ready, nothing more.

If ECM is really that broken, the data will show it, not a bunch of whiners on the forums. If the Raven 3L is the most broken, OP chassis in the game, the numbers will show 3L pilots performing much better on average than pilots of other mechs. They have hard numbers to analyze. They don't really care about endless, breathless whine posts. These forums exist for bug reports and to build a community, not so they can farm a bunch of sweaty neckbeards for their ideas of how to "properly" balance the game.

Random 8-mans aren't competitive. They're just PUG rounds that take an extra minute or two to play.

Nope, just acknowledgement. They can start in the Ask a Dev forum. I should not hear about changes in a 3rd party site.

By playing the game, they get their metrics they need on what people are playing and how they are playing. Just because you are vocal and want something changed NOW, it's not how this works.

no cuz there are other systems in place, for organized 8vs8 play besides getting 8 players together and hitting the launch button

you know all those secret 8manteams that PGI keep in a basement that they gather ECM advice from. not the beta testers or matchmaking of course no.

I'm not sure what to think of the game anymore. I still love it, and I do agree that the problems are totally blown out of proportion by noobs that spend most of their time play COD....but I think I might stop for a little bit.
