Because PGI is clueless about their own customers.
They think using social media as opposed to their own website, or the patcher feed everyone sees, or the homescreen in game everyone sees, is the better way to go. Social media websites. Facebook? Twiter? Relevant?
When did this become 2008 again?

PGI makes some perplexing maneuvers. That's for sure.

Then again, given the hype they gave this last patch, I'm kind of surprised they didn't go the same route and promise us a mind-blowing, never-before-seen bonus this weekend.

Whoa! Hang on their bud. What hype?

They said NOTHING about this patch or what would be in it. Hell everyone was bitching for weeks that there's been no official word from PGI about what would be in this patch....

Seriously. I'd love to know how all the talk about the hype that's been happening for the last few weeks only started hitting the forums AFTER the patch....

Are they Hiring? I could have screwed this news up much less and probably cheaper. This is just another case in point proof that PGI is creating a Cash Cow game and has no care for what the Players want. They are out trolling every place on earth except there own site for new players. This my Fellow Mechs is all about $$$$$$$ nothing more.

Hero and Founder's mechs only have a c-bill bonus, no XP bonus

D'ohh! You are correct. My bad.

So is it just XP bonus and no Cbill bonus? Not complaining just want to know because I was going to buy my third Atlas but if the bonus is just for XP I'll probably buy a couple cheaper mechs instead since I'm usually cash short by the time I finish the basic tier on a mech (and already have 20,000+ xp saved up on my 2 atlases).

Because the devs, for some reason, are absolutely terrible at getting accurate, useful information out. Then again, given the hype they gave this last patch, I'm kind of surprised they didn't go the same route and promise us a mind-blowing, never-before-seen bonus this weekend.

The devs are not responsible for this omission. The publisher is. IGP. I'm not sure why I bother, but 75% of the crap people blame PGI for is actually IGP's doing.

Are you referring to the whole site? Or just the forums? Or just the general forums? I find useful information in all 3, it's just kinda hard to find sometimes. The problem isn't about the info being posted, but about it's availability.

all 3. you will find "news" about this game faster on twitter than you will anywhere on this site, and that has been the case for months. maybe eventually it goes up here but its always (in my experience) on twitter first.

So the solution is "Don't publish it at all?" Actually, that makes a lot of sense, given their past actions regarding communication... are you their PR guy?

Gee wilikers it looks like they just put it up on the front page on what...A wednesday on the MWO forums. So um yeah what were you saying again?
