Dont Stand Still!

we were on caustic, and we were sitting behind part of the ridge line. the enemy team starts coming around, under ECM cover. several ravens are in harassing us and focusing down our lights, the usual. I've got LRM's but i cant get a lock due to them not being countered. so i look up to see what else is coming.
WHAM, lasers in the face. there's an outline of a Stalker standing on the ridge, under ECM. so i cant lock.
but he's standing still
i drop the reticule over him, and fire away. one volley, two, three.... i forget what i got to. he seemed more concerned with the units in the fur-ball in the valley between us than with a "stupid LRM CPTL that cant lock me cause i'm under ECM hurr hurr"
the guy never moved, and i took him down.
Lesson: ECM is not a shield, don't be an *****. keep moving! use cover! if the guy had been moving even a little i wouldn't have done nearly as much damage.

best part being - they don't even get an "incoming missile" warning so you can usually land 2 salvos on them before they even have chance to move

this is a social game (part of) and standing still makes you a good target, others will like you for it. your teammates will love you for the fact that they always know where you are. your enemies love getting you killed, thus they befriend you faster.
You just got the inner meaning of battletech if you stand still, or atleast you don´t get tricked by the nonsense they try to tell you like: 70 tons of machinery moving at 65 km/h.
Last but not least you do something against the chaos on the battlefield. you are an non chaotic avatar of order, thus superior to all those hectically moving idiots around you.
STILLGESTANDEN.

Meaning that if you are covering another team mate with ECM then you have to be close.
Another good example of this is frozen city, going down tunnel and starting to get signal warning from Mech with ECM on ridge line near crashed drop ship.

Nothing is as bad as lights who back peddle though. I get so many kills when they do that. I know its tempting when you see a guy with no back armor but atleast look around and make sure that no one is looking at you with an ac/20 or 2

Well, no warning except the giant flares of light anyone with eyes can see arcing in on you, for many long seconds. Anyone who fails to see that is probably going to die anyway, even if the enemy is a 53pkh Jenner with only a flamer.
And let's face it. If you'd had a Guass Rifle, Large Laser, Autocannon, ect. and he had done the same, he'd have died faster. Sitting still in full view of an enemy for an extended period will always result in your death if they have the firepower to core your cockpit or torso, so I don't think this is an LRM-only issue.
