Ok so I've been trying to do this so called "sync dropping" for the past week. Me and my 8 friends all count down over a Skype voice conference and all 8 of us hit launch at the same time. For some reason we have yet to be in a game together. We even took all commandos so we could match up mech for mech.
My only conclusion is that pgi has fixed this sync drop bug and that things are going to get a lot better now. Thanks pgi. You guys rock!

Not quite. Try doing two four man groups. It still works and will until matchmaking phase 3.

That or try doing three 3-man groups, That gives the matchmaker a little bit of room to fill in different weight classes too.
