The spider came out, and with the hard points and speed nerf, its not an overly good light mech. To me the only possible redeeming factor is its capability to get to obscure locations on the map to spot other mechs for info and lrms. However, to be able to spot in the 5D effectively one would probably stick a tag in the ct or arms, however, currently tag can be seen with the naked eye meaning the wavelength of light is within the 600-700nm range of light. This means a dual Gauss or ppc can trace the tag back to the origin and knock you out pretty quick, the fact that the tag is visible makes the ecm useless and the low armor on your mech makes you dead. However, to give tag more of an advantage for a mech built to scout, why not make it in the infrared so that the beam can only be seen when in thermal vision. This allows the mech to be a little harder to spot when at a distance marking targets for lrms.

Tag should be invisible yes. Missles without line of sight targeting should not perform well though.

Try running the 5k... it's even worse. 4 ballistic hardpoints and 1 laser hardpoint, no ECM.
