Closing 99% constructive threads in the feedback forum. Why don't we just admit that's a little bit of an overreach and just open her back up yeah? Delete the poll or amend it's language if you prefer.
Srsly etc.

In the threads regarding this I've repeatedly seen people say 'just don't lock targets'. Many patches ago they made it so that when an enemy is in view for a certain period of time it automatically locks onto them if you have no other target. I don't recall seeing notes that this feature has been removed.
I never had cause to make use of it as I'm in the habit of hitting R but assuming this is still the way targetting works then simply 'not locking' won't always be an option for someone attempting to sneak attack. Thoughts?

The 2nd complaint (and the one I agree with) is that having an omniscient computer tell you when someone has targetted you goes contrary to the originally outlined mechanics/stated goals that said that scouting was integral to the experience. As has been pointed out, the effect of FOV only targetting was to put emphasis on awareness of your own surroundings and to encourage you to cooperate/rely on your teammates at all times for an accurate picture of what was going on in the battlefield. Being magically warned when someone has managed to evade you and your comrades weakens that aspect of the game and (IMO) makes it somewhat shalower overall.
Basically, it removes a tool (stealth) from the toolbox without a compelling reason for doing so. And I strongly disagree with that approach.

A cynic might say it got locked due to the poll results.....ludicrous though;
"This thread is entirely constructive but the poll is not conducive to a constructive thread so I'm closing it".

I think it locks when you fire on an enemy that is detected if you have nothing else locked. So not so much impact in this case but the general premise of this detection warning is still badly flawed and has a huge impact.

I didnt need to read the thread to see why it got locked. maybe the OP could delete the poll and ask for it to be unlocked if it is useful?

Regardless - if the poll requires moderation yet the thread is fine, moderate the poll and don't lock the thread right?

Seriously, it's time for PGI to eat some crow and either DRASTICALLY nerf ECM or just remove it from the game entirely and rework it from the ground up before putting it back.

Yes, these were loaded questions baiting trolls.
There were no trolls in the thread itself.
Should the admin have removed the poll?

Sure they were loaded questions, but honestly, anyone who's not vested in abusing ECM or downright stupid knows it's utterly horribly pathetic and needs to go.

1. PGI is stomping on us for bringing valid points because we are in fact trolling morons, the game continues to be a smashing success and we need to ****, or
2. PGI is stomping on stuff they don't like because "they know better" while in fact player numbers continue to decline and the game suffers from poor decisions.
Since we have no idea how many people are actually left playing the game (except that Comstar EU is dead and Comstar NA seems to have half the population it used too before ECM)
it is tough to say. I suppose in the end, time will tell.

That is an opinion, a poll must not contain an opinion, regardless of what you think.
If it does, it no longer is a pool.
Should the questions be non-troll and civil, the thread would still be going.
Also, smurf account...
