Right now a torso mounted missile launcher will lock on alongside an arm mounted one. This probably isn't intended. The Arm mounted launchers should lock with the arm reticle and the torso mounted ones with the torso reticle.

In addition, streaks should drop lock (for them) when fired. This was actually suggested by another:

I like this idea because it will keep SSRM4's and 6's from being overly devastating to light mechs. Maybe when they are implemented they take longer to lock on than do SSRM2s, but that will be a discussion for when they are introduced.

I would also like to see Streaks and LRMs lock independently of one another.

And finally I believe that LRMs and Streaks should be able to lock on under ECM disruption effects IF they put the reticle on their target and not merely in the target box. But make it so it takes a couple more seconds to achieve a lock in such a manner. This would help make it so missiles aren't entirely neutered by ECM but are still drastically affected by it.

The arm/torso thing is a really good point. I would like to see that changed.

The LRM/SRM separate lock thing has been suggested in other threads...I agree with this as well.

Just remove lock-on from the game. It adds nothing, makes SSRM over powered, and just doesn't fit in. Guided missiles are 50% of the problem with MW:O (ECM being the other 50%).

when you say remove lock-on, you are suggesting no more guided missiles? I don't quite understand why everyone hates missiles and ECM, there are several weapons that doesn't need a lock, if you can see an enemy mech, even if you can't lock because of ECM you can still shoot at it with other weapons. and for missiles, you shouldn't be in the open if someone is shooting missiles at you, you shouldn't run up front against a SRM's boat...
