I live on the east coast of the US and I have been having issues since the prior patch too. As I stated above I used to average 30 ping, as of the recent patch that average has jumped to between 130 and 150 with spikes to over 400. Part of it is my net, but I have been using this net for the past month and prior to the recent patch I had little to no issues.
WTF???? EUROPE, usual ping was 150, now 170-180 (it was nicely playable before). I run one way and then find my mech running the other way. No hits are registered sometimes (even hitting a catapult!!!!!). no problem with FPS, 40-60 fps. VIDEO ADDED: http://www.youtube.c...d&v=cUBFGSX7Gxk
My understanding is that that is not lag, that is packet loss. It can be caused by your connection rather than the server even if you have an excellent ping. (Though I could be mistaken.) I had that problem on and off about 3 weeks ago but it hasn't popped up again. Last night I was getting intermittent 10-20 second periods of low FPS (14-16 FPS) once or twice per match. My ping is under 40 and my normal FPS in combat is 35-40. First time that's ever happened.
Shutdown enemy raven with a team mate standing just off to the left and ahead. Line up my AC20 for a little raven go boom sweetness, click, wait 1-2 sec for the round to fire, warp to be pointing directly at my teammates back, boom, team mate dies, raven powers up and runs away. I almost threw my monitor across the room.

Good news is good.
Today has been particularly jerky, my ping hasn't changed but I'm seeing more warping and rubber banding than previously. More light mechs per match perhaps.
Going to get worse with the DOUBLE XP event today and over weekend.
Should be an interesting stress test for server.
Me I plan not coming back until next patch.

Same here... I am soooo staying out of the double lag whammy weekend.
Terrible performance after the last patch , i am EU player and i need to lead with lasers even Atlasses after the last patch and i am not saying leading just a bit i need to lead it more then one lend of the mech , last night i needed to fire outside of my view angle to hit a light mech and he was 100m away from me that means more then 50 degree angle , at the end my ping aways was stable 150ms before the patch now i am happy if i see 160 ms . So your changes has the oposite effect for me at least .
Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I've been enjoying this game with a ping in the 60's and now I'm at 150+ constantly. I was getting very annoyed last night to the point I stopped playing. I've done tests on my internet service and all looks good so I was at a loss as to why my ping more than doubled. It seems to be only with MWO and now seeing as I'm not the only one with this issue I've begun to get some sanity back.
Please fix this ASAP.
Glad I'm not the only one. I was losing my mind as to why my gaming experience was going down the toilet. I've been checking everything on my system to see if it was on my end and everything on my end is fine. I've done speed tests and ping tests and all are normal. MWO ping went from 60ish to 150+. Was planning on enjoying the double XP weekend, but have to lag shoot an Atlas is not my idea of a good time.

And.... Asian, South American, African, Oceanic players?

The reduction in round trip time is not limited only to EU players, I figure what he meant was "Rest of the world" will all profit by this improvement.

Hmmm, sound like an explanation for why I'm suddenly getting a rash of TKs when I hardly ever had any in the past.

Had that thought too. My ping would be where it used to be, but after last patch rubberbanding got terrible, not to mention a disconnect here and there. So it seemed to be a problem with my ISP. That alone led me to play a few dota 2 games to check, but guess what, no issue at all. Also pingtest results regarding packet loss were always great, zero packet loss. That led me do believe the problem is here. And I'm afraid I'm right. Little video I shot:

Thats great to hear, let's hope it does the trick.
I lag to but i blame it on my provider (T-Offline) because they have problems with overseas routing for quite some time now.
At peak hours its so bad that the launcher wont even open up and i either have to use a VPN or disable the patcher ("H:\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWOClient.exe" -nopatch).

What about us poor Au players? We're twice worse-off than European players and we don't even seem to be acknowledged
