MC1
Its mission design is still unmatched (maybe Myth1-2 were as good). That hollander from second mission gave me same feelings as the butcher in d1. And that feel when you captured a whole lance of unscratched masakaris was just priceless.

The first DOS version of Mechwarrior was the best.
Unseens, 3020s tech, no clans, and it followed the Tabletop rules pretty well.
Need I say more.

I miss MPBT Solaris and MPBT 3025 (would be my #1) on the list - they are not exactly Mechwarrior brand, but more Battletech then the rest combined

Torn between MW4:Mercs, MechCommander. I'm not going to include MWO in my decisions until it's out of open beta (whenever that will be *looks longingly out to the horizon*)
I think I'll say Mechcommander
EDIT: changed my mind

I loved Mech 2 mercs and am still rabid for 3, but the original Mechwarrior, for all its walking blocks of doom had one feature that I've lusted after since. You could negotiate your contract pay and salvage percentage. I know, its a small thing, but it was a level of immersion that no game since has accomplished. I also enjoyed that you really had to watch the changing date and factor in how long the jumps to different worlds took. If you didn't, you could never complete the final fight. You'd just shoot right past the window of opportunity. .
Yes MW 1 was may be the best for immersion. When you got to the end and actually saved the day, you really felt like you accomplised something. Satisfying, like the final scene in Star Wars IV.
The Graphics in MW3 were maybe the best and loved the Moble repair bays. I was so disappointed when MW4 came out and the Graphics actually took a step (maybe several steps) backward.
I still have hope that this game has the potential to surpass them all.

Exactly.
If only someone would re-release those games with updated graphics and engine mechanics.

MWO still has the potential to be the best, we are just waiting impatiently for it to reach it's pinnacle.
