Our School Banned D&D in the mid 80s, so guess what game we got into? I collected a bit of Battletech gear as the years went on - still have it all in nearly mint condition ;)

How did you manage to keep the Battletech Compendium in mint condition? The glue in mine started breaking down after about 10 years so that pages would fall out and the cover would separate from the rest of the book. I had the same problem with my 1st edition Mercenary's Handbook and my 1st edition Mechwarrior RPG. I've heard others claim similar problems with books from that era from several different publishers. Something about the glue used at the time by RPG companies (who probably couldn't always afford top of the line materials) being of less than perfect quality.

Awesome....I have mine in a couple of boxes in the garage....I also have the City tech someone else posted and a third one that I want to say had space fighter rules but I can't remember. Might be getting Traveller or Silent Death mixed up in there. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Aerotech - for aerospace fighters, dropships, and other extraplanetary shenanigans.

Through complete and utter lack of use!
I didn't get the compendium until I'd left school and by then I had almost no one to play it with. Had to get married and have kids just so I could make them play board games with me :) That backfired though, since I refused to let them win when they were little (figured it would make their deserved victory all the more sweeter, but turns out it just made them hate the game - damn kids).

Just checked the spine of the book and yeah - It probably wouldn't take much use before that glue came away. I might just go and vacuum seal it! Doesn't look like I'll be using it any time soon.

I sold battledroids in my friends fathers shop on weekends, I own still gathering dust in the loft, or on my bookshelves, the first edition Battletech, same game, different title, and, every piece of innersphere souce book or game except the small unit action book, (battleforce) shown on this thread, I think because I didn't feel it was compatable with mechwarrior rpg, or was to limiting *shrug* it was along time ago, also aeromech boxed game, and a few stories like sword and dagger, and the grey death legion ,fictions..

Also have the original ral partha castings of the ground and space forces, so my hidden will look like they used to, should I ever brush the dust off them.

My intrest wained when it was clear that house davion were clearly the golden boys in the creators eye's and the franchise extending clans just killed any desire to hold onto my battlemech geek level, which consigned it to the things I used to do corner or the house, until I bought MW3, which was kind of ok, even if it did have clans in, the story was to beat the daylights out of them, rather than be them.

MWO is my last gasp hope of piloting a Victor, in anything but a TT or P&D setting, before I hit 50 and put the toys to oneside for good
