Recently I noticed that that mech variant has a ballistic slot on it and suddenly I imagined a light mech running through the battle field with an ac20 on it and I was wondering is there any possible way to make that build with this mech? If so please post your build and I will be internally gracious.

You would need 10 slots. Unfortunately you only get 8 in each arm.

Impossible.

The Ballistic Hardpoint are in the arms - not enough space there.

The only light which can fit an ac20 is the raven 4x

The only light mech which can successfully carry an AC20 is the Raven 4X. And it is fun. :)

(190XL engine, AC20, tag or ML, 3t of ammo, max armor)

Nope, the spider has too many actuators in the arm to fit an ac20, and that's where the ballistic hardpoints are.

there's one of the ravens that can mount an ac20 though.

Yeah I run my K regularly with:

LB10-X (3 tons of ammo)
medium laser

AC5 (2 tons of ammo)
Large laser

AC10 (2 tons of ammo)
Medium laser

UAC5 (5 tons of ammo)
Medium laser

Fun stuff

Yeah, you can make a (very) poor man's Hollander, however with only 10 rounds ammo max with any reasonable amount of armor, you're not going to do enough damage to matter. Sadly :)

20 rounds... I've made the build however it's a 170XL, and low low armor levels.

Yeah; I didn't count that because the armor is so thin and the mech so... well, not slow, but not nearly fast enough... that it's a silly build. With the traditional TT armor values it'd be viable, in that single gauss hits would totally **** up many mechs, but in MWO? The doubled armor values mean you wouldn't live long enough to use 10 rounds, let alone 20. Even against lights, you need several consecutive Gauss hits :)

The problem is the forced 10HS on a mech... a guass light isn't a light hunter, it's to hit the big boys hard. They play like ac20 light's in that you have to get into a position behind the enemy and just pummel... got 3 kills in a Guass Raven coring out enemy mechs from behind thinking they were being sniped from infront, simply by sneaking around behind their lines.

Problem is you can't mount the ecm, so you can't long range hide and snipe... although trying to hit a raven at extreme range is difficult :)

It would be really cool if it worked.

Use spider jummpjets to get above opponent and headshot them for an instakill with AC 20 :)

I am pretty sure that in MW:O headshots take 33 points, assuming the target didn't skimp on armor in the head. 18 for the armor, and 15 for the internals.
