I was in a match last night, and observed some unusual conditions. I want to spell out the facts, and hear if you all think something was fishy.

1)When I joined, my mech config was wrong. I was supposed to be an a Raven 3L, but I was instead in a raven with 2 medium Lasers, 1 Large Laser, and an STD engine that let me run 81KMPH. There is nothing in my stable like that, and I'm pretty sure the trial isn't like that either.

2)There was a Raven pilot in the match who could run 147KMPH. His mech was outfitted with..
2 small lasers, 2 SRM6, NARC (I think), ECM and AMS.

He was killed before the end of the match, but when he shot his small lasers, they were active for so long, they basically looked like a laser sight coming from the right side of his mech. It looked like he could do a "MASC" style speed boost, but maybe that's just a side effect of a big XL engine?

#1 is definately a mechhack.

Thats more probable than you hitting the Trial Raven by accident.

#1 was you using the trial mech by accident. #2 was a Raven with TAG that you mistook for a small laser.

#1 - This Raven is one of the trial mechs currently available. You must have somehow clicked on it before launching or maybe it's a bug that launched you in it.

#2 - Max speed in a Raven is 150.something with all efficiencies unlocked and max engine size. That loadout seems do-able except for the narc, which leads me to believe that he had tag and just has it keyed to all his weapon groups so if he's holding down a button then it will stay on until the button is released. The speed boost could have just been the pilot adjusting his speed from time to time like any good light pilot should be doing ;)

Oh good! Thanks for the follow up! After another match, I DID see that I was mistaking the TAG for a small laser. I want that kind of speed out of my command mech, so I'm going to see what kind of XL engine I can fit.
