I find it ironic. After all the whining the cat pilots did about ECM being op when it was first introduced, streak cats are still the most op 'mech on the field.

*edit
Perhaps op is not the correct term...more, one of the most effective builds on the field

ECM didn't fix streak cats. All ECM did was make streaks only usable by those with ECM. That's it. They made it stupidly strong to hard counter something instead of just fixing the problem in the first place and making the ECM act as a useful tool rather than a must have tool.

streaks require a target lock every time it fires.

not only one lock and fire fire fire fire

streak system not the same as LRM target system. that is whole point is that its a different mechanism, thats why streak LRMs are a thing

when people run around in 4 man teams in a pug environment then the odds do stack on their favor

2 6xSSRM2 catapult
2 ECM ravens

saw this happen quite a few times. and I don't blame them because of the fact that the maps dont allow PPCs, ERlasers and other long range weps to reach their full potential when it's 90% CQC, and 100% of that 90% exploiting the problems that we have right now.

Agreed. Theyre still total cheese. Same with streakmandos and Streaklas DDCs. I guess we will just have to accept the fact that SSRMs will always be the best weapon, because the devs seem very reluctant to do a total overhaul of the streak missile system (how it locks, how and when it fires, etc.)

They also need to do a total re haul of how LRMs work and Pulse lasers.

sorry may have been my fault giving out "advice"

http://mwomercs.com/...ons-dont-do-it/

yeah close rangers have it all now with the exception of cheese builds, catapult twin gauss {don't mind it on the cataphract the chassis locations abilities balance it out} and the 6 ppc stalker. the rest is all exploitation of the broken parts in this game, saw it coming miles off.

Dealing with StreakXYZ robots are easy:

I can't speak for 8 on 8 as I never play them.

That said, I find it impossible to believe that Streak Cats are still one of the most effective mechs on the field, because I have seen exactly 1 in my last 50 or so matches.

And if the response to that is "Yes but in an organized 4 man group they dominate!", my reply is that pretty much any organized 4 man group will dominate in PUGs, regardless of what mechs they are running.
