Guys, if you cannot touch the ECM (dunno why), at least change the load-up configuration.

The Raven and Commando that actually can mount ECM are able also to mount the Streak, this combo allow them to rule the match totally with an individual role, and so people abuse their usage.

Just allow ECM on "balistic - laser" mech, but not on "missiles one", they are too powefull and this would increment the "Role playing" of the match.

What's the sense in having 3 commandos, 2 totally useless and 1 with 3 streak + ECM?...

What is the sense of 3 Raven, and the fastest one has the ECM?.. Put the ECM on the balistic one (4X I think) not on something able to load-up missiles.

All the Ravens and Commandos have Missile hardpoints. Though it would be nice if the ECM were on ones with only one missile hardpoint.
They should give it to the Jenner JR7-F, maybe.

Paul already stated that we will get some other modules to Balance ECM,
the first we already got.

Two others will follow.

I've never used any Jenner, and from what I've seen, none of them are anywhere near as OP as the 3L, even if they had ECM.

My Opinion:

Remove the ECM from the commando, at least the 1B
Spider ECM - Ok
Raven 2X with ECM (it has only 1 missile but 240 engine max, so it's slow and can be hit by LRM and other fastest mechs)
Cicada ECM - ok

Is this SO DIFFICULT for PGI to analyze?

Before ECM came out the Jenner was the light that called OP.

what about people that paid mc for a raven 3l, they may have bought it just because it has ecm. Does pgi just refund the mc? what about the xp?

don't think it's as simple as a little ecm reassignment surgery.

The Streak + ECM = OP argument has a simple answer.

Carrying ECM prevents your own streak / lrm from locking too.

there... done.

Exactly Moonsavage,

the concept is "Balance the bonus - malus" of the game so not to let them be all together in 1 single chassis.... (all bonus or all malus in a single Mech variant)

maybe ecm should also produce heat proportional to the number of people you shield/block....

Maybe you guys should read up on BT canon. The Raven 3L had ECM. In fact, it was THE ECM mech for the IS. Removing ECM from it is like saying "Well, this game isn't based on BattleTech anymore". The solution is to simply LEARN TO AIM. I kill 3Ls all the time with AC/20s.

right now they have it on the most expensive variant in a chassis.

you know to make money.

but all ravens should be able to mount ECM. the 3L is already faster than all the other ravens. it has ECM too. why play any other raven?
variant balance plz.

It was that way in canon. The 2X and 4X were prototypes, and not production models. They were total crap there and they are total crap here. The 3L was useful in TT, and it is useful here.

You must have not yet used the modules. They are canceled out be ECM.

Funny you would bring that up. ECM does not function as it does in BT lore. Currently it's functioning as Angeles ECM suite, null signature and stealth armor. And even then it shouldn't be causing a stealth bubble for allies.

If the other modules are anythin like the one we got now, they're a **** poor counter to ECM.

Also modules, as per PGI posts, are meant to be "end game" items. After you've maxed your mechs and kitted your mechs out how you want you go for modules.

Why would they make an end game item be a, at absolute best, soft counter to somethin as readily available as ECM.

It's like going to a car factory looking at the chassis half way down the assembly line and whining that it doesn't have any wheels.
