I would love an actual defend/attack game type where there is 1 goal for each team. Defenders need to defend the base, attackers need to take the base and hold it for set time or until the other team is destroyed. Defenders win if they destroy all attackers.
Players get 4 mechs on the drop, choose which 4 mechs from mechbays or trials or a mix of the two. If you have no mechs in your mechbays you get 1 of each trial mech to make your 4.
So basically its a mix between assualt where its last mech standing mixed with respawn but with the dropship idea and conquest as you need to conquer the base.
a time limit of 15 to 20 minutes should allow a good amount of back and forth attack and defend.
Goals
Defenders
- Defend base against attackers until all attackers are destroyed
- Once you die you will be respawned in your next mech you chose at start of match.
- You will repawn in your next available mech as close to your base where there are no enemy mechs. - could change that to respawn is always at the secondary base.
- If attackers successfully overrun the main base the next time you die you will respawn at the secondary base.
- Once the main base is taken by the attackers your goal then becomes recapturing your base.
- You will need to consider protecting your secondary base as well cause if the attackers find it and destroy it you will no longer have any reinforcements which means if you die you cannot respawn in your next mech. Of course if you recapture your main base then you will once gain have the ability to respawn.

- hold base for time limit or until all defenders are destroyed.
- Find and destroy second base - Will not be displayed on map, you will need to scout and find the secondary base.
- Once you die you respawn back where you started at your dropship.
Attackers
- Conquer main base and destroy all defenders.
- If you capture the main base and destroy the secondary base, the defenders will be unable to respawn. If the defenders recapture their main base they will once again be able to respawn.
- Destroy all attackers.
- Be in control of main base by time limit.
I would make the dropship very hard to destroy. The secondary base could have its own defenses as well.
