Solaris VII - Riots in Solaris City have escalated because of thrown fights linked to high officials within the FedCom, along with several massive tax hikes on goods and winnings. Lyran mech forces are right now being used to enforce a curfew of the population. Several riots have reached the Comstar Relay station which was evacuated earlier in the day.

January 1st, 3050.

An unknown jump fleet pushed into the Solaris system during the riots on the 28th. Over a dozen dropships have been seen heading for the planet. The population has been told to evacuate to shelters. Meanwhile, there is still some fighting in Solaris City between some of the jocks and 32nd Lyran Guards. The guards tried a few days ago to commandeer several mechs from different stables to fill in their ranks. Many of the competitors quickly took to sleeping in their mechs and fighting against the illegal seizures.

House Marik forces landed quickly taking key locations on the planet. Several of the stables came to the aid of House Marik when one their Battalion commanders stated, "I'm not here for your mechs. Keep 'em. I'm here to kick the 32nd off our world!" As of this moment the remaining 32nd Lyran Guards are fighting for their lives in a push south of Solaris city to reach their remaining dropships.

The FWLM has taken full control of the Solaris system. January 16th the 32nd Lyran Guards escaped in two union class dropships and were last seen headed for the nadir jump point. Marik command is still in a few "cleanup" fights around the world with some die hard Lyran loyalist.

January 19th, 3050

In a 30 min broadcast the commander of the Marik forces stated that they have no interest in heavy regulation of the Solaris Arenas. He also stated that the plan was to have the games commence again in several weeks. His last comment to the population has had the most resounding effect, "The Free Worlds League is about the freedom to choose. We hope the population will have the freedom to choose its own policies and actions in regards to the League. We welcome the lost sons and daughters back into our arms. This is Solaris, where the best are legends and the rest are dead."
